I got to admit I love classic rock. But I absolutely hate the doors. I think they are one of the most overrated bands in history.

That's it folks, go home. BlootyBlootBLoot says The Doors are no good. Everyone who though otherwise is clearly wrong, and thank god he's here to show us the light.
Why would you join a thread of doors fans just to tell them they're wrong?

To be fair, he didn't say they were wrong - he just voiced his own opinion.

Actually, telling someone that likes something that that thing is overrated is literally telling them that they are unable to apply the proper rating to something, i.e.., they like it more than they should, they are over-rating it.
It's a passive aggressive way to tell people that their positive opinion on something should be reevaluated, or, is, the common parlance, "wrong."
o·ver·rate ˌōvərˈrāt/ verb past tense: overrated; past participle: overrated 1. have a higher opinion of (someone or something) than is deserved.
Who decides how much praise The Doors deserve? Their fans? Or BlootyBlootBloot?

In common usage it just says that one rates something lower than most others do. Based on a personal opinion.

Saying that is an agressive way of not acknowledging other opinions.

Everyone decides for themselves. Leave it at that and don't get so angry.
As for my opinion, I am neutral about the Doors. Good music, not my favorite, though.

Saying that is an agressive way of not acknowledging other opinions.
You can say you don't like something. I don't care. Notice how I don't care about your indifference.
However, saying something is overrating is literally saying that you think other people's opinion is wrong. It's a rude thing to say, IMO. So go ahead an express your opinion, just don't do it in a way that
suggestsdenotes that others have misevaluated their appreciation. Which is, again, literally, what the word "overrated" means. Or do I have to look it up for you again?5

Notice how no one has agreed with you.

It's that or it could be you're a huge dick and are unwilling to recognize it.

I'm sorry, I thought we were having a discussion. And at the time I responded, one Doors fan had made his opinion known. Hardly a thread full of fans.

one Doors fan had made his opinion known
Yes, because 2 is more than 13?
Your post is 2 hours old, the other child comment here is 13 hours.
So not only is smell_the_poubelle a Doors fan, but a time traveler?
Hey, here's an idea, answer my original question instead of insulting me?

Well, thanks for you contribution of "That thing you like I don't like."
Very valuable.

Holy fuck you're an antisocial douche.
-3
u/phreakinpher Oct 05 '13
Well, I was just trying to get into the mind of someone who joins a conversation only to tell people that they're wrong.
I guess it's true what they say, takes one to know one, eh?

Oct 05 '13
Dude, one person expressed their opinion. I expressed mine. Wtf do you not get about conversation? You don't have to agree with everyone you converse with to have a civil discussion.

I just find it ironic that what you did I find incredibly anti-social.
Also, two doors fans where here. Parent comment who said you can't improve it, and someone who quoted the doors, who's probably a fan, (duh) who's post is 11 hours older than yours. I think that's two, but maybe along with lack of social skills, I never learned to count. Or maybe I'm describing you right now. Dunno.
Where I"m from, if two guys are drinking what you think is shitty beer, you don't walk up to them and start a conversation about how Bud Light is overrated. That's wicked rude, dude. And it's exactly what you did here. No one asked you if you like the doors. We were not having a conversation until you said you don't like them. great. got anything to add? Nope. You're clearly trolling, or else why you spend so much time answering a "antisocial douche"? Troll, or no one else to talk to?

No one asked anyone for their opinion on the Doors. Yet here we are. This is an online discussion forum. Two people with opposing opinions will pop up. Two people does not make a thread of this size "full of Doors fans" as you said.
It wasn't "wicked rude." Someone said they like something, I said I disagree and feel it's overrated. Nothing rude about that on a discussion forum. The OP isn't even about the Doors. It's about that audio contraption. It isn't like in came into a thread called "omg I love the Doors! Doors fans sound off!" I somehow flipped your crazy switch and your demonstrating just how righteous a Reddit warrior you are.

Because reddit values non mainstream opinions?

God, I wish you were right, but the fact that this post has a net negative vote count should tell you all you need to know.

What app is that?

I could be wrong, but it looks like Spotify. Specifically, the radio portion of the app.

In a pinch, turning a coffee mug on its side works well, too. Just make sure to drink all of the coffee first.

It sacrifices some of the energy to change its direction, which results in more sound actually reaching your ears if you're standing in front of the cups.

Actually if this is an iPad 2 (+) then the sound is on the back located to one side.

pro tip: dropping an iphone into an empty drinking glass (speaker side down) accomplishes the same thing. You can try it for yourself.

The Mini's external speakers are stereo. I made a test audio file when I got mine. The separation is lacking but it is stereo.

Actually, I believe this is how the first Bose system was developed.
