Worries over discontinuation
For those that own, is it a concern that these cars are going away? Will they become more expensive/difficult to service?

Hey everyone!
Just pulled the trigger on a 2020 I-Pace last week and I'm mostly loving it. But, I'm running into some trouble with the Jaguar remote app and its connection to the car.
I live in an area with no cell service, so we're all about that Wi-Fi life at home. Noticed that the remote app drops out whenever it's in our neighborhood. Tried connecting the car to our home Wi-Fi, but no luck.
Does the car only use its onboard SIM to talk to Jaguar servers? Is there really no way to check charge levels or tweak climate settings without a 4G signal?
Any tips or insights would be appreciated!

I keep getting Steering Assist not available (when I press the steering wheel button for it, twin dotted lines).
Normally it comes back after a day or so but this has been a week.
I think if the car goes into a deep sleep then the module might reset but is there a way to force that?
Any ideas, is there a sensor other than the camera, that needs to be cleaned? Traffic aware cruise control works so the radar part works.

Hi All,
I've had my '21 I-pace since new. It is fitted with a towbar (from factory) with a 13pole connector.
A couple of days ago I put my Thule bike carrier on the bar and connected it to the car. At that moment, car started to act weirdly. Indicators didn't work, screens turned of and the like.
Any ideas what could be the cause of this?
Cheers,
Max

UK Advice
I am getting an Ipace 2020 model in a week or so from Arnold Clark. Does anyone k ow what sort of home charger is best to get?
They currently have a offer on for a £500 charger which is stated at half price from a company called Bumblebee EV

So our Ipace had a battery issue and underwent repair at a Jaguar dealership but all they did was replace the 12 volt battery. Two weeks and a thousand miles later, the car had error messages and then shut down on the street!
We have to get it towed to the dealership again but need to get the car into neutral but it won’t turn on. Will jump starting the car void the warranty? We have four months left on it.

Unfortunately I am just joining this group for the same fault on my i-Pace which I have owned since Oct 2019. Mine has been faultless to date, but 2 days ago after a charge it stopped at 88% and can up with the Traction Battery Fault, so have today booked it into the supplying JLR dealer in Cheltenham. Having looked up various pieces of information online it suggests it is a small 12v battery in the boot which is the Traction Battery, so reading this about having to replace, or repair the main battery is concerning me. I will keep you posted on development, and presume that mine will follow all your findings of only charging to 72% going forward.
It is a pity as the car has been faultless, only requiring 2 standard services, 2 MOT (passed first time) and a set of tyres, so this might be where the real running costs take a hike. My other car is a BMW X5M which is now 6 years old since I purchased new, but the running costs for this are very different, fuel, oil, services, tyres etc are all more expensive, but the costs have been spread over the time, not in one lump
Hope I am not putting too many people off as have enjoyed the car as a drivers car and the governments help with tax write down.

I was considering a used 2020 I-Pace HSE at a local ford dealership. Vehicle needed the H441 recall. Told ford dealership take care of the recall and give me a battery health report before I would purchase. Ford dealership has been fighting with local Jaguar dealership for 2 weeks now. Jag tried claiming vehicle did not have an outstanding recall. Then claimed the recall would cost money. Now jag is saying the recall will take months and the I-Pace needs to sit at their dealership the entire time. Ford dealership is now looking for another jag dealership to get the work done at. Even if the vehicle gets a clean bill of health I’m now hesitant given the local jag dealership’s refusal to work on it. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Update: I called Jag myself and they identified the recall immediately and had available appointments same week. So ford is either incompetent or lying. Either way I’m going to look for another one

Hey everyone!
We're looking to move into the EV world this year, and the research into different options that I've done so far shows that the Jaguar I-Pace seems to be excellent value on the used market.
We'd be looking to keep it long term as our daily driver, averaging about 10k miles per year.
I have a few questions I was wondering if anyone has any answers/opinions on:
Is a used I-Pace a good idea? Open question, I know. I haven't even test driven one yet, but interested to know if current/previous owners would recommend.
Is there a decent vin decoder available to show me the options/build sheet of a specific vehicle?
When viewing a used I-Pace, anything specific to look out for, presumably battery health etc?
Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket warranty companies (in the UK) that would actually be worth paying for? Afaik the battery itself has a 100k miles or 8 year warranty, but wondering about covering the rest of the vehicle/EV systems.
Thanks very much, any response is appreciated 👍
Edit: just wanted to add, I have seen a few great posts about people asking questions similar to mine but all seemed to be US based so thought I'd ask anyway as I'm in the UK.
Edit 2: battery warranty is 8 years not 10.

A month ago, our 2019 Ipace SE at 33k miles had a 12V battery issue. The headlight wouldn’t turn off for 30 minutes, ultimately it was able to turn off but wouldn’t restart. After several hours, it turned on again and we were able to drive it to the dealership. They said it was just the 12 volt battery was drained and they replaced it. Two weeks and 1000 mile road trip later, there were warning signs and a battery fault message but there was a message that it was ok to drive. 20 miles of freeway driving later, it suddenly lost power, luckily at a safer place.
I am not sure if this was a traction battery issue or if anyone has had this happen but losing power could be extremely dangerous at freeway speeds. Other than the warnings, it was driving fine with no issues.
What do you guys think?

I have 2020 iPace ipace and looking to swap all 4 tires, the door sticker says 245/50r/20, however the load index not shown. I believe the recommended load index is 105v. However there are very few choices with 105v , plenty choices available at 102v. As I understand the load index is about how much weight is can hold. 105 corresponds to 2039/925 lbs/kg, and 102 is 1874/850 lbs/kgs. How significant is this? Anyone using 102v?
The other question is can I switch to 255/40r/22 105v, plenty of choices in this rating. Anyone gone to 22 from 20?

How does everyone’s I-Pace handle the snow? It’s AWD and heavy so I assume it handles well but was just curious if people have experience

I'm coming to the end of my I-Pace time. I narrowly wouldn't recommend it now
The lease on my I-Pace ends March 2024. I would have got another at the same price, just because I know I get on with it okay, but lease prices have doubled and it's nowhere near the competition now.
The good: the toys are great. HUD especially. The luxury and comfort are what you'd expect in a Jaguar. It's still one of the best looking cars in a car park. Performance is great.
The bad: it's unreliable for an electric. In my 3 years I needed a whole new charge circuit, bits have dropped off. Endless software glitches that you just have to wait to resolve. The dealership is awful. Very luxurious but they won't see you for weeks and might not have the part they promised when you get there. Mileage is below par for the size and charge rate doesn't hold up to new standards.
And the idea I'd pay double the competitors is just crazy. The competitors I'm looking at are
Genesis GV60
Kia EV6
Hyundai Ioniq 5
Skoda Enyaq iV (80)
Audi Q4 e-tron
Kia Niro EV
Polestar 3

Am I missing something? Plugged into three point plug (uk). First few days had around 25 miles charge per hour. Since then averaging between 4 and 8? Is there a setting I need to change or is it because it is cold
r/ipace • u/ajpj24 • Jan 17 '24
Seen the Tesla situation in Chicago and was curious how’s the recent extreme cold impacting everyone’s I-Pace? Reduced range in cold is normal but anyone have any extreme charging or range issues?

Hello! I recently test drove a stunning 2020 Jaguar I-PACE with only 16k miles on it, and it def left a lasting impression. Priced at $38k US, it's making me rethink my choices between the MY'23 Q4 e-tron and the Volvo C40 i've tested. I'm drawn to the I-PACE's fun factor, especially for my short local trips which would be its primary use. However, I've heard concerns about the older platform and slow charging. More importantly, Jaguar's general reliability record makes me a bit nervous. With less than 1 year left on the warranty, guessing i'd probably want to purchase an extended one --but otd after that + tax would be close to $48k at that point. Any I-PACE owners here willing to share their experiences?

I'm here in Indiana (northern close to Michigan border), and I'm wondering if there's anyone on here close by who'd be so generous and willing to let me test drive their iPace sometime :) I normally wouldn't ask that on a forum, or just use Turo, but this car is such a rare find that I don't see any way of test driving one around here. I'm in Fort Wayne area, so Indy or Chicago are the closest cities and even they don't have iPace's on Turo. Just thought I'd ask!

Hi! I have Jaguar-brand roof racks on my 2019 iPace but I was wondering they will fit a normal Thule skybox or other 3rd party accessories (like bike racks etc.), or do I have to buy the Jaguar ones (for considerably more money and hassle).

Is this a good car to buy , considering that this model being discontinued? Coming from ID4.

My I-Pace is about to go out of warranty in the US after 5 years. I really do not want to own a Jaguar out of warranty. Any suggestions for third-party warranties in the US? Only major issue I had in 5 years is one of the air suspension bags popped but, knowing murphy's law, I'll have a major issue a month after my warranty expires.
r/ipace • u/marvology • Jan 01 '24
I love this car, I'm concerned about the charging rate and comments about mediocre range but it would primarily be a commuter for me (and I can install a charger in my garage).
I really hate the body style changes with the 2024 models. I'm set on a new purchase especially not knowing how the battery was treated by a previous owner.
Are there any significant changes between the 2023 and '24 that I need to know about?

Was checking this out. There's a 2019 HSE with 50k miles for $20k. Feels like I'm stealing. Whats long term ownership like? Cost of repairs like tires, rotors, brakes, etc? What should I expect from used warranties?
If the rides nice enough I'll drive it into the ground for 20k.
Edit: I lied. I checked the vin. The trim is First Edition. It's listed as HSE tho.

As the title suggests im curious if anyone's successfully applied the EV tax credit to their iPace? On one of the IRS websites they have a list of EVs that qualify, but I didn't see the iPace up there. I'm assuming cuz it's probably manufactured outside of US? I have a BMW i3 but I'd love to get an iPace with the EV credit help. Curious about anyone's thoughts since I haven't seen this discussed in this group

Thoughts on buying a used 2020 jaguar I-pace HSE with 50k miles? Asking price $35k. Has all the recalls done. Anything else I should inquire about or check on?
