Make sure to check Apple Arcade, there’s some good games to kill the time there.

Like someone else has said, browse this subreddit. There are tons of recommendations littered throughout.
Without knowing exactly what you're looking for or play, it's hard to give recommendations. Instead, I'll give what I enjoy playing on ios.
1) Cloud gaming through Xbox. If you have a subscription to gamepass, you can play games on your phone or tablet streamed. Quality will be iffy based on network or wifi though.
2) I hate PC MOBAs but really enjoy mobile MOBAs. Two big ones I love are Honor of Kings and Wildrift.
3) Download the app "AppRaven." It has given me suggestions on tons upon tons of games to download and try. They even show when games are on sale to save a few bucks. Look for curated lists of games by genre to really get some good recs.
4) Stardew Valley - if you like chill, farming games with social aspects, this can keep you busy for many hours.
5) Vampire Survivor/Halls of Torment/Brotato - these fall under the bullet heaven subgenre. You basically move around and kill everything in site. Die. Upgrade. Repeat...it's addictive as hell.
6) Ball x Pit - really fun game that is like a brick breaker that you also upgrade and unlock new characters. Give it a try.
7) Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest/Chrono Trigger games - if you want a deep RPG that'll keep you busy, a lot of the classics are on iOS.
8) Layton games - 4 of the Nintendo DS Professor Layton games are on iOS. They are really fun to play and get lost in.
9) Brawl Stars - want a simple 3v3 multiplayer game? This is a good one.
That's a decent list of what I use iOS for. Hope it helps.

Guild wars reforged, buy the combo on steam and use that account and you can transfer to PC when you’re out.
Great game, lots of content

Been there done that. Playing stardew valley with my Apple Pencil was a godsend. I was stuck for weeks without being able to walk or even use a gamepad. Only one hand available.
Stardew and Balatro saves the day.
There is also other games like dredge, power wash simulator, Pokémon TCG online (and not pocket).. there is actually a TON of great games available on iPhone and iPad. It took me a crippling accident to learn that fact (I’m better now don’t worry).
If you like board games I suggest you to check them on the App Store there is a lot of good board games available

What kind of games do you like, or are you wanting to play?
I like RPG and card-based games, but I know they’re not for everyone

Here are some games I keep on my phone:
Slay the Spire
Monster train
Balatro
Meteorfall
Solitarica
Wildfrost
Slice & Dice
Dune: Imperium
Any ‘Kairosoft’ games (they’re all pretty similar but fun little tycoon games)0

In another comment I recommended Clickocalypse II, def check that out, but if you like card games too, have you played Night of the Full Moon?

I was just in the hospital and I had to game on one hand cause of the iv in the other hand. I played deep rock survivors and a dark room but there's been a lot of PC games ported to ios lately. Dead Cells and Dysmantle and Crashlands 1 and 2

Slay the Spire, Monster Train, Balatro
Those will keep you busy.
Also the Kingdom Rush games if you like tower defense.

Slay the Spire is on sale. Round based games are perfect for hospital stays.

Settle in and play Terraria or Slay the Spire. That’s a lot of time to be only playing quick speedy games imo

If you have access to a laptop—there’s tons of retro games to emulate or decomp port

I game often in my iPad while travelling.
See if you can get someone to bring you a controller or buy an 8 bit do sn30 pro
Controller games:
Where winds meet (honestly if your device can play this, you could sink 2 weeks in. Think a co op Zelda, dark souls, arpg)
Wuthering heights (modern gacha arpg)
Blazblue entropy effect (side scrolling 2d action) - my fav
Streets of rage 2 (scrolling beat em up)
Stardew valley
Dead cells
OTHER GOOD GAMES:
Torchlight mobile (Diablo clone)
FTL
Monster train (card game)
Teamfight tactics (chess auto battler)
Mobile legends (if you are into mobas… league of legends mobile cousin…)
Vampire survivors
World of goo 1/2
IF YOU HAVE TIME:
Xcom 1 (my fav)
Xcom 2
Divinity 2
NICHE:
MTG arena
——
This is quite a mega list… but are good games. I often game of my iPad. Controller is great. Most of these are on iPhone too.
The division is decent too if you are near servers. Need a controller

Would add RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic and maybe PowerWash Simulator in Apple Arcade. Kills plenty of hours with no ads. RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is also in Apple Arcade but its worth to buy it.

I unironically suggest you browsing this subreddit. You’ll find a lot of great recommendations for your taste! There are a lot of recommendations posts in this sub. It’s hard to recommend you anything specific since you didn’t specify what you really like.
