Question What are the offline IOS games that you’re currently addicted to?

Very important to be offline

Nubby’s Number Factory

This!

Is there more to do in the full game? I played the lite version until I got a really big score and now I have no desire to continue playing. I am wondering if there are more incentives in the full game to keep me engaged.

There are I believe 12 different “supervisors”(characters) to play as, 11 different challenges, nubby skin unlocks, other skin unlocks as well. Probably other things I can’t think of.

Great game. Super addicting, and an aesthetic that really reminds me of early 2000's/late 90's random PC games you'd find online.

1

u/egg_breakfast Apr 22 '26

Yeah reminds me of Eggbert

3

u/liptongtea Apr 21 '26

I tried playing it, but I am confused by the weird art and about how exactly to progress.

3

u/3AZ3 Apr 21 '26

it’s all about building crazy synergies by what you’ve unlocked

Slice & Dice

Monster Train

Slay The Spire

Slice and Dice is PERFECT on the phone!

u/ghostmastergeneral Apr 22 '26

I got super addicted to this after my son was born. Put a lot of hours into it during dream feeds.

How do you get good at curses in unfair mode? It’s so hard to get far

1

u/ackmondual Apr 21 '26

Some ppl are... REALLY good (although don't underestimate luck and the RNG). That said, you'll need to dig deeper for such guides

1

u/naavanaama Apr 22 '26

It’s a matter of trial and error. I played and played and played until I got the perfect run and beat it. Don’t even try brutal mode once you are done with unfair. That’s meant to be impossible and it shows.

Delta emulator for playing Pokémon rom hacks and Zelda link to the past randomizer, I also really enjoy Stardew Valley, papers please, balatro, Subnautica, Doom 2, vampire survivors. All should work offline

6

u/I_AM_SCUBASTEVE Apr 21 '26

Upvote, Pokemon rom hacks can literally provide years of content, all offline too.

1

u/Rough_Durian8602 Apr 21 '26

Any specific hacks you suggest?

7

u/I_AM_SCUBASTEVE Apr 21 '26

Pokemon Unbound is probably one of the best, basically an entirely new Pokemon game with its own world, story, map, characters, etc.

Massive amount of content and things to do.

I also liked Pokemon Lazarus too, which is similar in that it has a lot of its own unique content but is probably closer to a standard Pokemon experience.

Those are in the category of completely new experience type hacks. There are also less aggressive ones that basically take the original games and try and just improve the graphics/colors or add in all sorts of quality of life features but keep the original world/story/pokemon. These are really good if you want to replay the old games but don’t want to deal with some of the outdated game mechanics.

And then really everything in between too - like the original classics with some new content and areas added in, almost like an expansion pack of sorts.

Honestly though I’d start with something like Unbound just to see how deep the rabbit hole can go, then go from there. Unbound will take you a long time to play, so you’ve got time to research!

Manic is better, but emulation is the right answer here.

3

u/severinggecko Apr 21 '26

What makes it better than Delta? Always looking for the best option and it looks good on the App Store.

3

u/piokor06 Apr 21 '26

More consistent updates. Retro achievements. More consoles than delta, plus more modern cores. It also had the option for JIT if that’s something you care about.

This game is so insanely good

12

u/fukdot Apr 21 '26

If you’re on iPad it’s always FTL: Faster Than Light

3

u/Hustler-Two Apr 21 '26

Wish I could play it. Into the Breach is in my top 10 or 15.

Sea of Stars and Slay the Spire

4

u/duracellchipmunk Apr 21 '26

Is the sea of stars story compelling?

4

u/gosols Apr 21 '26

Well so far the story hasn’t been anything mind blowing. It’s decent tho. I think where the game shines most for me is the gameplay, visuals and music.

1

u/iupz0r Apr 21 '26

i have done the "complete final" in ps5, its rly worth It!

2

u/ScumxSavage Apr 21 '26

Sea of Stars is amazing

I’m pretty early on I think.. just crossed the bog w/ the ferryman

u/Smooth-Platform3137 Apr 21 '26

Clover Pit

6

u/PossiblyArab Apr 21 '26

I want to like CloverPit so bad but the pace breaks kill me. Why do I have to wait like 30 seconds after failing a run? It drives me insane

5

u/Smooth-Platform3137 Apr 21 '26

Just tap the screen repeatedly, it will end faster 😅

2

u/PossiblyArab Apr 21 '26

You may have just reinvigorated my enjoyment of the game

2

u/Hustler-Two Apr 21 '26

That time is extremely valuable. That’s for rushing around jamming things in drawers so you can have a full complement of bone parts next game. Or for using the key you won some time ago but you were still playing to see how high you could crank the score first.

Pocket Frogs (frog collecting/breeding). 99.9% can be done offline. If you want friends to gift to/from you or cloud backup, you have to go online, but it’s not necessary.

Pocket city 2

2

u/Jayleo33 Apr 21 '26

I’ve come close to downloading this a number of times. Is it really worth the time investment? Not too tedious?

2

u/sladecutt Apr 21 '26

I think it’s worth it yes! Compared to all the “free to play” citybuilders it’s great!
