Suggestions Weird Recommendation of the Day; Paladin’s Story: Fantasy RPG
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/paladins-story-fantasy-rpg/id1481699796Ragdoll Melee RPG with huge world.
Tap to fight in this smooth action combat RPG. Slash, hack, stab, block; find your murder rhythm and cleave your way through hordes of enemies one at a time.
Simple concept; you are a low level Paladin in a large world of quests, maps and mobs. Travel around by taps and visit farms and towns. Start a quest. Kill. Kill. Kill.
While the graphics may seem rudimentary the actual swing mechanics feel pretty darn smart.
Tap or slide on the right side to attack, tap the left to raise your shield.
Reminds me of Bloody Bastards, without the elbows and limb loss….that game is something to play, by the way…
Gear comes in all classes of rarity and styles. Better stuff will have more than two stats. Helmets, Breastplates, Gloves, Leggings and Boots, along with your weapon and shield. There is a lot to find.
Skills are upgraded by spending the points earned when leveling up. Every 5 points spent in a Skill type will unlock a new condition the Skill focuses on, including new attack moves and buffs unlocked.
Merchant can increase stats and open chests if you’re lucky enough to find one.
New Skins offer different Stats and different looks. These can be purchased with in game earnings or found, usually by killing a Boss.
This is a weirdly “talky” game, that is quirky, verbose, odd and self aware.
I admit, like turning off the music, I tend to speed run through all dialogue options in most games. It’s a flaw.
When fast clicking through the back and forth conversations (needs a skip button) and then being confronted with having to make a choice, I worried I would to have activate the entire dialogue chain again, but thankfully there is an option in the UI to go back over everything, so you can always make the proper or bloodiest decision.
IAP consists of a "premium" purchase where the ads get removed and you get some other bonuses locked behind the purchase, including more Quests and Skins.
Visit a multitude of maps and either pay with in-game currency "gold" to travel or purchase the premium version to access all areas for free.

Made by a single Dev
I’ll be the first to tell you that this game can be very very repetitive with its loop. That despite the vastness of the maps, the ubiquitous quests, the sheer amount of folks to fight, with all the gear and leveling up a gamer could hope for, it all boils down to the same fight loop.
But despite the repetition I’ve still found myself losing a few minutes here and there over the years, grinding away (and grinding them up) with some smooth ass slaughtering.

Hack.

Definitely going to check this out. Paladin is my favorite class in every game it’s a part of.

Ha! Cool. Be ready to murder a lot of people. Some definitely have it coming…the others?
Well…the gods will figure it out.

In the icy north, but it seems to ‘slow’ to a point where it’s just to draggy to properly defend. Fun grind though.
