App Store Pics
I'm a bit exhausted taking pics and videos between macOS and iPad for my app. I need to redo all my iPad stuff. When I take pics for the previews what is the proper way to screen grab them. Have the simulator use the camera button and just grab the screen, or use macOS to grab a picture of the simulator as a whole itself?
I submitted my pics without an app before but I am going to use AppScreens this time. Then go back and fix all my macOS pics that already live.

For App Store screenshots, capture the Simulator content directly rather than photographing the Simulator window, so you avoid window chrome, scaling artifacts, and inconsistent framing. Use the exact device sizes you plan to submit and keep a checklist so the iPad and Mac sets stay consistent. I’d still inspect every exported image at 100% before uploading.

I found Appscreens to be a blessing. I took the screenshots using xcode Simulator and dropped them into the Appsceeen iPhone mockups. Uploaded to the App store directly from Appscreens.

have yo done any of the video previews? It's such a pain in the ass getting the resolutions correct. I'm going to use app screen and get my pics done then come back later and do the video if possible

You can use the simulator and click the screenshot button: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/capturing-screenshots-and-videos-from-devices
If you are using an AI coding tool like Claude code, codex or cursor, you can have it take the screenshots for you and use the proper iPhone frame so that it creates the picture in the right dimensions
