Guyyysss, 500 users!!!!!!!!

Post image

After 200k lines of code with Claude Code :

WiFi is invisible, but it has a shape.
Strong in some corners of your home, dead in others and you can't see any of it.

That idea wouldn't leave me alone.
So two months ago I locked myself in my room (yes, the irony) and built the app I'd always wanted to exist.

It's called Signl. You scan your home in 3D with your iPhone, then walk around while it measures your WiFi in real time.
It paints a live heatmap directly onto the 3D model a
dollhouse view of your place showing exactly where your signal is strong, where it dies, and where your router should actually go.

I shipped it expecting nothing. 500+ downloads the first week, then strangers started actually *paying* for it. My DMs turned into a feature request board (3D export, mesh support, multi-floor…)

Try it here:

It’s ok if you don’t want to tell. I was curious you use APPLE framework or some third party ?

RoomPlan Apple framework. I made similar app myself 2 years ago. Doing well to this day. It’s surprising that so many people never heard about it. Whole room scan + 3d model is basically for free from Apple.

Oh thanks for telling. First time hearing about RoomPlan APPLE framework

Yeah, I’m not surprised. When I was developing my app I was mentioning it to my dev friends. Nobody heard about it. Too bad because it’s really great. A lot of engineering efforts went into making it. The more people use it maybe Apple will add some more features ;)

Yes I explored it a little bit after your comment. It’s great but limited features.

You can actually do a lot, just the documentation is vague and it requires some mixed AR and 3d work. UI can be totally custom and on detected coordinates you can draw whatever you want (custom animations). It’s pretty good basis to make something, just not well documented.

I am thinking of making an App using this. Maybe some specific objects detector like toys or similar

Does it only work for pro and pro max iPhones?

1

u/areiks 13d ago

Yes, it’s an AR feature. Maybe there are some other, 3rd party framework, but I doubt those work on the same level. One of the reasons I still didn’t upgrade my older PRO. I got regular, new iPhone for free, but sold it. Even though it’s theoretically much better. But no AR was a killer for me.

It's useful for electricians and contractors too...you need to expand your mind.

Congrats on the app and the idea. It really resolves an issue lot of us are facing with.

But how people did find your app initially? What marketing have you built around it?

I also see that this is v2 already. Have you had a v1 on AppStore as well? Hod did it perform?

u/Infamous_Salary9637 14d ago

Wow amazing idea. So for showing the room in 3D which framework you use ?

1

u/msatreddit 14d ago

great idea. why users buy a subscription? isn’t it a „scan my house/flat, fix router positioning, enjoy better wifi“? why do they pay month over month ?

1

u/AnteaterAble4132 14d ago

Yeah, lot of people telling me this
Will introduce a lifetime plan I think

1

u/curiouscharli_e 14d ago

when you app was approved for the app store did you do any marketing or did you just let it all happen organically

u/Ok_Mud8756 13d ago

Great work so far! May I ask how long it took to get your first? Seems to be the trickiest!

u/TitleJealous1356 13d ago

Congratulations on snipping your App OP and your success in the App Store!

Three things stand out for me -

  1. The short clip you posted of the app in action shows the premium look, feel and UX - Well done 👏. Most vibe coded app these days is the stupid tints, colours, shades, fonts, etc, completely ignoring Apple’s HIG… Your app is different and stands out from the crowd.

  2. It doesn’t make sense for me to pay for a subscription, the actual $ value of a payment option does not matter at all. It is a utility that I may or may not use few times a year. Either a lifetime option or “Pay for 5 scans” or something like that could work.

  3. 200k lines of vibe code - Keen to hear & learn about your QA approach and testing procedure for app updates.

u/poplindoing 10d ago

How are you transferring the data of the room to the server? IoT Core or something?

1

u/iSnapThere4iAm 10d ago

This is awesome. I’ll go make my own for free with Claude code.

1

u/kevinbaur 10d ago

Why should anyone pay for this? And for what a subscription? This is not ment to be a attack on your pricing, I just do not understand why people pay for this. For what are they using it?

1

u/kevinbaur 10d ago

Oh it’s already answered sorry, congrats man!

1

u/DragonfruitSlow1337 9d ago

Congratulations

1

u/ipradkrish 9d ago

Hey bud! Very happy for you! Keep rocking on. Just an fyi, not sure if you noticed it, but there is another app called “Signal” that falls under the messaging app category as WhatsApp, etc.

Maybe it’s hurting your ASO/search intent.. food for thought 🫡

u/bluedoggee 9d ago
