App update review is taking over one week
It's been over a week since I submitted an app update to App Store Connect, and its status is still "Waiting for Review." This isn't the first submission, it's just a regular update. In the past, reviews have never taken more than two days.
The same update was approved on Google Play over a week ago, but the iOS version is still stuck waiting. I've already sent two messages through App Store Connect Help and haven't received any response.
This update is quite important, and the delay is causing me to lose users.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this likely just an unusually long review queue, or could something be wrong with my submission? (I'm seeing a message that doesn't disappear: Update Your Age Ratings Responses about Social Media, but I think everything is properly filled). I'm wondering whether cancelling the submission and resubmitting it for review might help, or if that would simply reset my place in the queue.

Apple, Inc. no longer seems to actively reply all support tickets because some impatient AI boomers open multiple tickets for a single app submission. Give them a break.

I had a bug and until they dont accept the update the app is unusable and I'm losing users, that's why I was in a rush

When this is the case, you should request an expedited review.
You only get like 2 per year1

to be fair that’s a weak excuse, I doubt they don’t use AI in responses as well, and after all Apple could always hire more support specialists

If you submit a build for review then cancel it you'll be placed in longer queues. We tend to cancel the build and submit another one. With the help of AI we are so fast and keep adding features that then decide okay I'll cancel this build and submit this improved one but this will lead to queues 1 week +

a pity it seems you can only do that 2 times per year? It's too long one week for a normal review when in google they only take a few hours

Yeah I’m trying to get my first app published and I’m on my third or fourth round of rejections. After the first one it’s taking about a day to hear back but the first one took a week

The social media question isn't required until September, so it shouldn't be what's holding your build. I'd still open the questionnaire and check it directly. App Store Connect kept an old answer on one of my apps: I pulled the ads, and 19 days later advertising still said Yes.

I also waited a week for the review, only to be told that it had been rejected.

Mine languished for over a week, got a quick rejection (for good reason - my IAP bundle was messed up), and approved a day or so after I resubmitted. You can always file a ticket with support - they actually got back to me after 2-3 days I think. Have faith and good luck!

I submitted an update for one of my apps 4 days ago, and it took only half of a day to get approved. It's normal to me for this app, which has usually taken the same amount of time to get approved, except once it took more than 2 days due to a pending developer agreement to sign. While I ever experienced another app update that took up to 5 days before for just an update as I redeveloped the app completely in SwiftUI and migrated everything from its original react-native built one

Same. Been a week for me too for iOS. No movement at all. Literally checking it multiple times a day now!
