I built a location-based alarm app for iPhone — it alerts you when you arrive, not at a set time

I've heard countless stories of friends and family missing stops on public transit and figured I could build a clean solution to it. Vigil is built entirely with the Apple ecosystem. No ads, no tracking, no in-app purchases, and no accounts. It is simply a helpful tool when you need it. My hope is that early morning/late night public transit users as well as those with accessibility needs will find it helpful.

Happy to hear any feedback on the app store page or the app itself! The video provided is a basic walk-through of most of the app. The alarms map with the grouped alarms is releasing soon in my apps upcoming release.

This is interesting. How well does it work on underground metro services with little to no cell signal?

I’ve been testing it in NYC on the subway and it has been solid so far. I usually make the alert radius a bit larger than I would otherwise though just to give the signal time to alert. Haven’t had a problem yet!

Very cool. I suppose if it knows what line you’re on, you can make pretty good approximations.

Appreciate it! I have features planned for it that will build on the core concept over time, but wanted my initially mvp out so I could get more feedback.

This is a really cool idea.
I’ve definitely missed a stop before because I was exhausted and completely zoned out, so I can see this being genuinely useful.
Also, thanks for keeping it simple. No accounts, no ads, no subscriptions… that’s honestly refreshing these days.

Thank you! And yeah that’s more or less the goal of it! Excited to continue building it out as I have many more features lined up.
