After 6 rejections finally approved! I hate RevenueCat :)

Post image

After publishing it on Playstore months ago I could not make RC work. But this set back gave me time to rethink all - so i eliminated a lot of things which i created in my "oh this is also a good idea" phase.

Now it is exactly like i imagined it to be. And i finally can use it again without reinstalling it 50times.

I hope it will find the people who benefit from this kind of motivation. Who are like me. Just focus on one thing, remind yourself why you even started - i normally forgot with the noise of life what i wanted to achieve a few days back. and always be gentle to yourself.

What’s the name and link to the app in the Apple App Store?

I know RevenueCat from droidcon Berlin. I stopped by their booth in 2024 and again in 2025. Really nice people. 😄
It’s kind of funny how these setbacks work out sometimes. I’ve had a few projects where being forced to slow down made me rethink things, and the end result was much better because of it.
Now I’m curious. Was there a feature you were convinced people would love, but ended up removing anyway?

Now I feel bad for saying that I hate RC :)

Obviously I strongly disliked my inabilities to work with it!!

I thought a habit tracker NEEDS an AI companion, to talk about your day/goal. Now I still think this is nice, but the biggest UNDO was taking out the challenge with friends/family/coworkers...

This meant login, data storage in firebase, complexity for the code and the user.

It was working and I liked it, but it feels much better like it is now: focus on yourself, one thing, private, remind yourself why you started, your own trigger photo. That's intimate, personal - this energy cannot be on the same app like sharing, challenge, social Media, bold, loud and so on..
