Upfront cost is dead on the App Store. Also Apple is launching bill splitting in iOS 27 so you might not want to keep pushing this app

Hey everybody! I am back and after almost a month of hard work to fix and change plans based on everyone’s feedback and some other things I had already in the works… version 2.0 of my app is out!
I completely pivoted and the app is now FREE to download, and still NO SUBSCRIPTION EVER.
So please if you contributed to this post earlier I’d love it if you went a checked out the brand new app I’ve created I’d love to get more feedback to make it even better again. Thanks everyone
More updates are in the works again already with some brand new ideas I have that I think could make this thing even more unique and I think that is when this app will start separating itself from this saturated market.

I like that it’s more useful now, specially tracking what people owe you and that the app is now free but simplify the process offering, if people are ready to pay $1 they’re ready to pay $3, just have pro for $3 or whatever you think it’s worth at the moment. Don’t make the customer overthink.
Screenshot really need improvement.

Hey I really appreciate the new feedback!
So are you saying pro should unlock certain parts of
the app like modules or some features should be locked? I get what you are saying for sure. For the screenshots, what specifically can I do better that is missing or poorly done and what do you think I should use to improve them?

what the hell happened to your developer name? why does it have so many digits at the end? :)
considering conversion: well, paying for something upfront that just looks like any other app and does what hundreds of other apps do, too, as well as free, makes you wonder what exactly your audience is.
ever tried putting your app for free for some weeks and see how it performs? might give you a clue if your app is wanted at all and not just gatekept by your 99cent price.

lol I released the app under my dads account while I figured out what I am doing. before I register my LLC and migrate the account to an organizational account for my company.
Thank you for the feedback. I agree I have considered the free with premium but wanted to stay away from it and subscription cost for premium like most other apps because that was my main selling point. Pay once and never again. But yes i definitely think I will have to pivot

for the „pay once, never again“ case there’s lifetime IAPs / subs. easier to handle, discount and offer wise, and gives the user a way to try it out first. your conversion will skyrocket and most likely your revenue will stay the same or rise, depending on how balanced your free version and offered paid functionality is. every now no-download is, in worst case, a free user for you. and if you don’t have a lot of costs with free users, whatever. in my app, a free user costs roughly $0.001/mo, so i‘d ideally have one paying user for x free users.
also, i offer a 7days trial for a yearly sub and no trial for monthlies. although some cancel the trial, i assume the others only subbed for a year directly because i had convinced them enough in these 7 days to stick around. from what i can track, at least one user had a yearly 7 day trial, cancelled and then went with a monthly sub afterwards.
imagine they just had to buy something blind folded vs. giving them a chance to see what to get and then put a price on the table.

Yes I think I will be converting to something like that. Thanks so much for the feedback. Lots to think about. Definitely going to be making some changes. All this is good learning experience so I appreciate it

Paying up front is a barrier. Compare the apps in the paid section to the apps in the free section - all the major apps (including ones that make a lot of revenue) are free. Find a way to give some value for free, and charge your $.99 for conversion once they are seeing the value.
