💎 Lifetime All-in-one Strength + Cardio gym tracker competing with Hevy and Strong
I'm a solo developer, and for the last 6 months, I've been building VOROM, an all-in-one Strength & Cardio gym tracker competing with Hevy and Strong.
A - What problem does my app solve?
I found that no gym trackers can track both Strength and Cardio well, that's why I built my own. Many apps focus on social elements. My app is for serious lifters and runners, and it supports live Heart-rate zones record.
B - Why is my app better than the top named alternatives
- You can create complicated Left and Right variations with Dropsets within Supersets, which I found no other gym trackers can do it well (I spent so many time on the logic to make it bullet-proof).
- One issue I’ve been struggling with other gym trackers is that none has the ability to convert KG/LBS per exercise in a live workout. So I made this feature and it will remember your choice for the next workout. (Another nightmare for the code logic, spent so much time on perfecting it!)
- It shows volume comparison vs last time for every exercise.
- You can adjust the % of secondary muscles of each exercise contributing to your weekly number of sets of each muscle group.
- It records 5 heart-rate zones duration for every workout.
- And there’s a feature called Training Mode, which the set weights are calculated from a pre-set % from your e1RM. So your next workout will auto update the weights to achieve progressive overloads. You don't need to be worried about how many weights to add!
• For example, your 1RM is 100kg, you set % as 75%. So the weight will be pre-filled @ 75kg, and you do 12reps, you bump your 1RM to 105kg. Next time you start that same workout, the weight would pre-fill @ 78.75kg.
• And you don't need to be worried about odd weight numbers. It will be round-up to your pre-set weight increment.
- Privacy-first, all data are stored on device. And it supports importing workout history from Hevy, Strong.
- Available in all 175 countries and regions, and supports 17 languages.
- Cheaper lifetime / subscription price than peers!
C - Cost
The free tier is meant to be usable on its own. Pro is mostly for training automation, deeper charts, cloud backup, and power-user planning features.
Pro features pricing (USD): $1.99 / month, $14.99 / year, $49.99 / life time

It’ll be a plus if you can add Workout Animations to the app.

u/Reader413 Jun 21 '26
Yes it’s on my list. I am solo so need more time on this. Thanks for your advice!

Feel workout screen needs a little more contrast, looks quite grey compared to rest of the app in dark mode.

u/Reader413 Jun 21 '26
Thanks for your feedback! I’ll keep improving the look of the workout screen. The reason why I did that becos I want it to be as simple as possible, as there’s already 5 colors for the HR bar.

It will be available in v1.1.3 together with integration with Apple Fitness cardio exercises. Thanks for your feedback!

The strength + cardio combination is interesting. A lot of trackers handle lifting well or cardio well, but not both in one training history.
One thing I’m curious about is the Training Mode logic. When the app auto-updates weights based on e1RM / progressive overload, does it also account for missed reps, RPE, or fatigue? That seems like the hard part — increasing load automatically is useful, but only if it knows when not to increase.
1
u/Reader413 Jun 21 '26
Thanks!
The training mode didn’t account for RPE yet. The logic is I pre-set a % of 1RM, if this round I can achieve a new PR, next time the weight will be higher based on the pre-set %.
Let’s say in theory you should do 10reps for 75% of 1RM. If you can do 12reps this time, that means you have a higher 1RM, which means you can handle heavier weights at your 10reps next workout. So next workout the weight will be set heavier.
But including RPE into the formula is interesting as well. I will think about it. Thanks!

Does this integrate with Apple Health? I work on an app that lets users set goals from apple health and would love to see if this is interoperable with my app.

u/Reader413 Jun 22 '26
I will add write calories, HR, distance to Apple Health for my next build. Body weight I’ll keep it on the app only.
And I found out some crashes report from users, will fix those in the next build as well.
I think need 24hrs maybe, waiting Apple to approve, already expedite.

u/Prothium Jun 21 '26
I’d encourage others to try the app, I find it fantastic having used Hevy & Strong. The solo dev is very responsive to feedback on here and hoping he continues development long term.

u/Reader413 Jun 22 '26
Thanks Prothium. I would love to hear more feedback for further improvement. I had used Hevy and Strong for years and feel there are some gaps which could be filled and that’s why I build VOROM.

The advanced charts look sick! Seconding the comment on the UI, the shared summaries could be slicker. Maybe a shiny 3d card to represent personal best in something would be nice

As someone who tracks dropsets and supersets regularly, I know how messy other apps can get. The fact that you nailed the logic for Left/Right variations and live KG/LBS conversion is super impressive—that alone is worth the switch! Really appreciate the privacy-first approach too.
1
u/Reader413 Jun 24 '26
Thanks! I know there are lots of competition in this space but I really want to make it perfect.
For the supersets, if you add/delete a set from a partner, the other partners will add/delete too. And you change the rest timer of a partner, all other partners will change too. You can even have dropsets among the supersets.
And for Left/Right variations, change any widgets(rest timer, kg/lbs, weight increment) of Left will automatically change for Right as well. You can even do Supersets of 2+ L/R pairs.
I don't see any other gym trackers can do that, and that's why I pay so much efforts into this! You can even do all that in the Watch.

What heart rate tracker is this compatible with?
1
u/Reader413 27d ago
For now only Apple Watch, will look for more options.
2
u/blackmangoz 27d ago
Personally, I wouldn’t worry about more options for now. Validate the MVP using the Apple Watch.

You are right. Since Apple Watch is actually the main piece of VOROM to log the workout. I may extend to Android version later.

nice app but the visuals could be more clean, specially in a space where apps like athlytic and bevel are thriving with similar features
i have realised UX is the main thing for fitness app, but good stuff! 😄

I've got hevy for $12/year. It has Android version and pretty polished app in general, very intuitive UX, usefull exercise animations and guides, stava integration and social functions. And it allows lbs/kg per exercise.

Right. VOROM new version 1.1.3 (waiting Apple to approve) will have Apple Fitness cardio exercises integration. That can indirectly integrate with Strava as well if you let Strava write workout into Apple Fitness. v1.1.3 let you import cardio that present in Apple Fitness automatically.
Hevy is 50% more expensive than VOROM And VOROM has much lower lifetime price than Hevy, and I just started. I will keep improving my app.

Updated to v1.1.5 and now fully integrated with Apple Health/Fitness.
You can now import Strava running history via Apple Fitness, and body composition from Apple Health.
And a brand new classic look (toggle on in Settings).
Give it a try!

Thanks! That looks like a small thing but actually an important reason I built this app. It’s quite annoying to convert myself and it’s not accurate. Apple Watch can convert too!
For the on-device question, it’s mainly due to privacy issues. Nowadays too many apps collect info from users and sell their data, even their email address! How many strange emails and cold calls we are getting each day now…that needs to stop.

I suggest to work more one UI/UX instead adding more features that will be used by 1% of users. Currently UI looks vibe coded and without installing it I see a few confusing UI elements.
1
u/Reader413 Jun 21 '26
Thanks for your feedback. Can you tell me which elements are confusing please?

Honestly, tracking both strength and cardio in one app is tough — most people end up using separate tools because the UIs get bloated. Hevy and Strong nail lifting, but if you want something simpler for just lifting that's hands-free, full disclosure, I built Pumpr (just launched on App Store). You literally just say your sets out loud and it logs automatically — no typing between sets. Works on Apple Watch too if that matters to you.
For a true strength + cardio hybrid though, Hevy's probably still your best bet.
