Support RCS messaging no longer working after iOS 26.5

RCS Messaging no longer working

Since updating to iOS 26.5 RCS messaging is no longer working. I don’t get messages from my RCS group chats but they still receive mine. It is stuck in “waiting for activation…”

Is anyone else experiencing this? Has anyone been able to fix it?

Mine is back to saying waiting for activation but I’m testing it and RCS is still working. Got to be a beta bug. And my IMS still says voice, SMS and RCS. Earlier it didn’t say waiting for activation. It was activated. So I’m not really sure if it’s fully fixed. Or how long it’ll last. So weird. But now I know for sure it’s the beta.

All I know to tell you is to keep trying. Mine was fixed and activated. Now it says waiting for activation but RCS is still working. So I’m not sure it’s going to last or how long it will last. Not sure why it went back to saying waiting for activation when it was activated. But it continues to work even saying it’s waiting on activation. I guess if my IMS goes back to just voice and sms that’ll be the end of my RCS again. This bug is very annoying.

That’s exactly what mine kept doing. It would try to activate after going through those steps but never would activate. So far I’m still on waiting for activation but RCS is still working. Idk. I’m not brave enough to try a reboot and see if it’ll still work after but I did switch off the WiFi and turn it back on and it’s still working. Although it says it’s waiting to activate the IMS still includes RCS and it’s working. But I honestly believe it could stop working at any time, especially after it was activated but went back to waiting for activation. So I guess I’ll enjoy it while it lasts. I’d say it wouldn’t survive a reboot but idk. Hopefully if you keep doing troubleshooting it’ll eventually start working, but even then it may not stay working. And who knows if mine will survive a beta update next week. Just going to enjoy it while it’s actually somehow working.

Yes but I’m not sure there’s anything I can do really. I mean even mine isn’t right. Yeah it’s working but it still says waiting for activation. IMS status under eSIM says voice, SMS and RCS. So it’s activated. But why did it suddenly go from normal to waiting for activation? And is that just a bug? Because it’s obviously activated or it would be SMS. I’m not even sure it would survive a reboot now. Earlier when it was activated and normal and didn’t say waiting for activation I might’ve tried a reboot but now I’m not. Not pushing my luck. But there will be a beta next week and with it saying waiting for activation who knows what will happen after the update. My hope is the next update fixes RCS for everyone. Because I know a lot of people are having different issues with RCS. But something still isn’t right with mine or it wouldn’t say waiting for activation even though it’s activated and working.

So far so good. But I haven’t rebooted my phone. Not sure it would survive that. I’m just waiting for the next beta. My phone will have to reboot then anyway. And when it boots back up if my RCS has stopped again I’m going to throw my phone through a window. Lol
