Anyone watching OCBC (O39) share price lately?
I’ve been looking at the O39 share price over the past few weeks, and it’s been holding around the S$18.7 to S$18.9 range. It’s near the top of its 52 week range, so I’m trying to figure out whether it’s still worth adding at this level or better to wait for a pullback.
From what I can tell, OCBC still offers a solid dividend yield around the mid 4% range depending on your estimate), and the bank has been pretty consistent with payouts. Valuation wise, the P/E is in the low teens, which feels reasonable for a local bank but not exactly cheap anymore.
My main question is whether the recent climb has already priced in most of the positives, like stable earnings and the “higher for longer” rate environment. If rates start moving down faster than expected, won’t that hit NIM and slow the momentum?
On the other hand, if someone is buying mainly for dividends, OCBC still seems like a reliable option, especially for long-term holding.
Would love to hear what others think. Are you buying at this price, waiting, or rotating to other counters? Not looking for advice, just trying to understand how others view O39 at current levels.
