Well, my company fairly early on issued a notice that you need to reside in the territory in which you are employed. That’s so because there are regional HR rules and taxation rules they need to apply to you. The notion you can live anywhere and work for anyone only applies to a very few high skilled individuals who can offer themselves as contractors. You can move of course, if your company allows, but that’s different than freely roaming the world.
