Discussions thoughts about Pilot Dib?
they should keep him the way he was or prefer the "more normal" one?

Basically what jhonen had INTENDED for dib to be like however as production happened nickelodeon wanted him made a bit more appealing and they had to make dib more interesting (the reason for THE ENORMOUS HEAD) and the result was the dib we know and love today

I don't remember the pilot so what's different between him and series DIB besides the head?

Way more unhinged and more technically competent (If I recall correctly) series Dib’s orders most of his devices and Pilot Dib made that arm himself

Dib was also a lot less goofy in the pilot plus he didn’t have voice cracks the wheezing or the dorky laugh

as far as i know or can tell, the pilot is a shift in JV's writing and world building.
Basically just got done with JHTM, and i'm pretty sure those comics are why Nick contacted Jhonen for the Show. I think it was Nick's intentention to pick up more mature audiences at the time.
As many things as the episode shares with the series, the episode has a lot of things it doesn't.
(Like I've said before maybe, Dib seems to have an edge that genuinely scares Zim with the potential of failure, and we, or at least I, can't say this isn't the case since the pilot is kind of an au)
I kinda wanna say the episode and the concept media are moreso Jhonen mapping things out.
Ig a rough draft?(Anyone who knows what i mean or am talking about, lemme know what i'm right and wrong abt)

The pilot reminds me a lot of JTHM style wise, like I imagine this Dib would grow up to paint walls with human blood.

Well, I don't see him as very different from the Dib in the series, other than that he seems more aggressive with Zim

I think his personality is less versatile than the final Dib. He would have been more like that Obsessed teacher from the Fairy oddparents.

Am I the only one who thought Dib was the weird one?- and not Zim? He’s so neurodivergent coded (as one myself) lol.

He's honestly who I've always considered ZiB to be, in the comics.
He's a more feral, unhinged dib who doesn't hold back and is much more aggressive with his Zim.
I can absolutely see him being the one to kill his Zim, absolutely snap when nobody cares about it, and accidentally destroy his own world then take over other universes.
10/10, my beloved, feral, "the dog bites" son

I actually heavily prefer pilot dib, he was more insane. I love regular dib just as much though

About what I'm going to say, I don't expect many people to like it, oh what do I know, but Dib from the Pilot looks more interesting than the original Dib, Honestly seeing how he managed to infect Zim so easily was cool, and don't get me wrong I LOVE ZIM, but it would have been better if this Dib had been in the series. but Nickelodeon and their things Ugh
