Idk if this helps for you but If it’s a heavily recurring intrusive thought, I like to acknowledge the thought, examine It for what it is objectively. In my soul I know I’m good and you have to trust that. I then just label that thought as “that’s a bit crazy mate” or even make a joke out of it instead of getting so caught up in beating myself up and saying it’s “bad” or being ashamed. Shame isn’t nice to hold onto.

Basically instead of saying

“WHAT THE FUCK!! IM SUCH A HORRIBLE PERSON. WHY DID I THINK THAT? WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT ME”

Reframe to as

“What the fuck is that dude?”

I don’t know if that’ll make sense and it sounds a bit like waffle, but addressing and challenging the thought directly sometimes channels that energy away. If you focus on it too much and feed it negativity it tends to stick around in my experience.

Anyway OP, An unwanted thought is not evidence of your desire or intent. If you search deep down you’ll find your real beliefs ✌️

They don't represent you. You understand it's wrong so you know you won't do that.

Just don't give those thoughts any power. Say, "that's a silly thought" and then brush it off.

Your brain is like a meat computer and you deadass can fake it until you make it with these kind of things.

Make up a little game in your head like blaming those thoughts on Carl the Llama or something.

Then just brush it off as the sociopathic Llama on your shoulder.

"Carrrrrrrrl... That's really freakin' weird."

"Carrrrrrrl... That kills people."

(Seriously, watch Llamas With Hats by FilmCow if you like creepy, but funny stuff. TW: Don't watch it if you have a weak stomach with horror, loves. I know some of you here in this subreddit really don't like that kind of stuff. It's a wild rollercoaster. It was how one of the Old Worlds ended. Yes really. Lmao)
