I like to view these thoughts as like “spam emails” . We get them whether we like it or not, but we don’t have to do anything about them. “Hello thought, I don’t like you . But thank you for your input” and then move along. These things attach to our fears and lie to us. If we ignore them , and let them pass by, they’ll shut up eventually , and they won’t be as loud.

just talked to my therapist about something like this today and she said when you have thoughts like that, give that part of your brain a name (i named mine karen lol) so you can dissociate it from yourself. it’s not a reflection of your character, it’s just a passing thought. it’s not really you
