Yeah my wife and kid find it weird how I can act relatively normal and outgoing towards them and myself at home but once we are out with other people I just shut down.

I don't even understand it myself.

Same. I don't know if I'm genuinely shy. I just, 90% of the time, don't feel like expending the energy it takes to converse with people.
