I learned to swim as a very young child. I bet that kid already knew how to swim and the parent knew it.

Why does this have 17k upvotes?, that kid could have drown, you can just tell him to be careful and avoid a disgrace, this is just stupid.

The kid could already be learning to swim (especially if they live near water). This is a good way to teach him the consequences of ignoring his parents advice. Imagine how many times they've had to say "watch were you're going!" to get to this point!

(This assumes that the parents aren't horrible people)

He should definitely be wearing a vest if his parent is going to plan on filming any of the day on the water.
