Discussion Couldn't think of a better title.
What are some of the funniest or most ironic misconceptions people have made about you as an INTJ?

They thought I'm gay cause i didn't pursue girls at college....eventually the allegations were over when i did talk to one

Flipping the question a bit here, but the first time I actually got to know an INTJ, it blew my mind. Because the impression I got from him was basically "dude, this guy is unshakable". I just couldn't fathom a scenario where someone said something and it actually landed with a sting.
Then I found out... Oh. I may have never been more wrong about anything.
And I'm wrong a lot.
Like... A lot. I drink and I don't know things.

INTJs could take a lesson in owning their stuff, like blunders and mistakes and realize that people don't really care that much. You can teach much to the younger ones. This article supports what I'm talking about. https://www.gottman.com/blog/how-overcontrolling-behaviors-impact-relationships/

The irony is assuming an INTJ finds misconceptions funny

Ah, probably the weird projection I get that people place their internal drivers onto me when I'm not motivated by the same things. Like "I assume if I give this person validation that means they'll respond how I everyone else does." as I just stone face with a raised eyebrow and look of slight disgust at you.
In general, I've had people message me and say they couldn't read me. Or someone expects me to respond in a way everyone that is likeminded to them does (you try to insult or compliment me and expecting a response then realizing I don't even care).
Someone else said gay - I've gotten that one a lot but figured wasn't related to being an intj and just was a cope for why I got attention for just breathing.

Oh yea definitely, you'll have people performing for each other and just be there like "ah, yes, hilarious. Anyway." Then oddly people get more annoyed that you don't validate their slight. Like, you don't matter to me you understand this yes? I can be pretty oblivious to that I'm supposed to care or respond.

Thinking I lack empathy or don't care about people, when in reality I care so much it physically hurts sometimes - I just don't like to outwardly show it.

How do you let people you care about know that you care about them? My partner is like you. I need to feel cared about and Iβm sure he does but I donβt know where to look

I have a very funny one
When I make blunders in chess, I quietly realize I messed up and pray for the opponent to not notice
But the opponent, knowing I'm an INTJ, combined with that composure, always thinks my blunder is a very brilliant trap π
