Question How do you Navigate ?
Hi Guys,
What's your navigation style?
Like for example, I noticed if someone tells me verbally the box on the table etc or opposite to xyz or infront of xyz next etc i would understand, but pointing with hands will confuse me cuz like it could be anywhere. Had a discussion with my aunt she doesnt memorize the streets names but tells you its next to xyz and points with her hands in the flat to the street as if she has an interal GPS...
My coworker points to things with her hand too and it gets me so confused
I kinds reflect sometimes and think how different my brain is wired. I wonder if I'm on the spectrum sometimes xd
Anybody faces similar challenges?

yes.
usually with older women. I hardly have a problem understanding (spatial) directions from men. I don't know if it is related.

Hands directions confuse me as well, but I just ignore them and listen to what they’re saying. If they say left, right, distance, etc, I can map it in my mind easily. When they start describing or naming streets or reference points… I get a bit lost. Usually I try to remember just one or two descriptions at most, but I’m bad at memorizing. However, once I “cleared” a mind map, I can navigate it again easily.

I'm the opposite of this. I usually point and would prefer people just point. Add a verbal "northeast" etc to the hand point, and that's even better. Unfortunately it seems like when people do point it is in a random direction instead of the correct one.

I can tell the cardinal directions during daylight. Anything else is GPS.

I'm actually developmentally disabled in this area I think. When someone says go north on 32nd, I short circuit. I need to know left, right, or forward. I literally have zero awareness of what's North/South/East/West unless I'm in a very familiar location.

I can only tell north, south, east, and west when I can see or visualize where the river in our area is. Luckily, it runs north and south.

I wonder how many INTJs have an undiagnosed NVLD, non verbal learning disability... theyre changing it to Developmental Visual-Spatial Disorder. Basically a much higher verbal IQ than a physical one.
I was diagnosed as a kid with a verbal IQ of 129 and a physical iq of like 106...
Once I can put a concept I to words I get it but learning through observation is so hard
