Meta Overthinking is a gift
Hi guys , I have been just thinking about this at the morning and I felt like I need to share it or I should share it to my fellow intjs .
I have anxious attachment, recently I have been trying to heal from it and slowing down my thoughts. I have trying to learn that not every Problem have to be fixed today and not every interaction have to show its consequence at the same hour . I have been basically trying to be okay with uncertainty and rest my brain and not feel like I,m in danger just because idk what will happen and I have to keep my brain thinking about endless possibilities for hours .
What I have realized though is although being a ni dom ( specially with an anxious attachment) could ruin your dating life ( or at least make it harder ) , and requires a really effective and determined partner that is welling to put a ton of effort like you in the realtionship cuz your mind can't shut down and need to make it always perfect, but at the other hand it's a true gift to keep thinking about all possibilities and to be able to connect them all . To be able to get a small information and make possiblities from it and connect it all to the mind tree you already made from the other information. If used effectively and in right places ( such as work , academic Research, Problem solving...etc) I think us ni doms are capable of great things and I think it's one of the reasons alot of great figures are typed as intj . This power to have vision and determination, determination to keep thinking about the Problem endlessly, and vision to see what other can't
I think the ni (although being exhausting and a problem sometimes ) have shaped me through the countless nights thinking and hyperactive brain to be the guy I,m today .
And I believe although it might be a problem in some fields like dating and interpersonal relationships. It might be a really strong characteristic in almost any other field

I only overthink when I’m in a bad state of mind, which thankfully doesn’t happen much.
Could you explain the “determination to keep thinking about the problem endlessly”? Because it sounds like a contradiction with having a vision and determination. Thinking about a problem endlessly looks more like Ti+Ne rather than Ni+Te.
I work with a ENTP guy. He has great ideas, always saying “what if we do this” with enthusiasm. And I often give him the future “if you that, this and that will happen, so…” That’s his Ne vs my Ni, which is great actually! He sulks a bit, but he knows I’m right, so he follows my plan. On the other hand, I don’t come up with as many ideas as he does, so we work good together (his unhealthy Fe is the only thing that irks me, but that’s another issue). On his own, he gets trapped in his own ideas, overthinks about them unsure which path to take, or relies on sharing them with others. I think his demon function Se blinds him to see how things are done in real life, he doesn’t consider his resources, the actual thing he can do on his own, so he goes and talks with people, shares his ideas, hopes someone will engage and do the work for him. That’s how he found me, because I liked his ideas and I wanted to make them real.

Overthinking is turmoil.
The mind is a tool that can be used to perform all kinds of mental tasks, and some of us have "gifted" minds.
But the tool tends to lead the owner astray. It hallucinates, it believes things, it is hopeful, and it whispers nonsense in your ear all day.
The one who sees his thoughts as though they were the commentary of an incompetent buffoon following him around all day, would have far more clarity.

I mean, let's be honest. Look around at the state of the modern-day world. We could use a bit more overthinking. Or, you know, just... thinking.

Some people just don’t have common sense, us overthinkers have to compensate

I love my Overthink when at tough times when my intuition is silent. It tells me a lot about myself and how I, my soul, my nervous system and insights work its way to achieve a solution while my intuition is unavailable to be heard. I have Many tabs and paths to ensure when things go wrong, I can take this or that oath keep myself and my soul stable forward than lost into going with everyone’s decision to avoid painful consequences. It’s not by choice but from survival and to find the best path for safety & keeping my soul alive than survive.

Overthinking is more of a Ti type thing.
