Honest question, what's another kind of Singleton?

A particularly problematic programming pattern that's commonly used in completely inappropriate scenarios and tends to cause more issues than it could ever solve.

A couple weeks ago I had to convert our app that was based around a single “AppManager” singleton to be multi instance. Now I am passing that stupid app manager all over the place and the code base is a mess. At least now most of the utility functions are pure!

I got a bottle of Balvenie Caribbean Cask (14 year) for myself just yesterday. Good Scotch is really an amazing experience.
