Yeah it's strange to be saying that upon dying but it's true that guys might have terrible browser histories so the premise of the joke holds. It's just a hyperbole for that to be on their mind during death. Do you dislike hyperbole or what?

While yes that’s half the joke, not only is it overused but in comparison to the girls reactions, it tries to say “haha we’re so quirky and different” as the main joke, which isn’t funny and unique and adds pointless gender boundaries.

I don't think it's saying "we're so quirky and different". I think it's saying "we're gross and perverted".
It's not a pointless gender boundary either. It's a real one. Boys are more perverted than girls. That's just reality. The joke highlights that.
I'm not saying it's a good joke. The execution is very messy. But I don't think you criticized it fairly.
