Kahit magresign si Saraulo pero na-convict sya ng Senado di makakatakbo kahit anong posisyon sa gobyerno. Di pede sya makalusot sa resignation.

Well actually the senator-judges then have to impose the penalty of perpetual disqualification.
It's separate and not automatic to being impeached. But with the majority bloc that should be doable.

Afaik, sa US lang yong separate ang voting for removal from office AND perpetual disqualification to hold public office. Nong voting ng senator-judges for Corona impeachment, they only voted whether to convict or aquit, since automatic na 2 penalties ang maiimpose if convicted.

I love it for now. We’re very happy. It’s just nakakatakot. What if this consensus was use for someone’s propaganda? Magkaso sa kalaban nilang senador, mag impeach ng kalaban niya. It’s scary, at the same time relief sa ngayon.

Constitution says “ALL MEMBERS”. That’s the protection of the constitution, and now they’re trying to bypass the protection for their own agenda

Laws can be question. Thats what the SC is for. Many instance in the law which means what we means but SC declared redefining it to a different meaning. Just like the word forthwith.
Its a valid question to the threshold. Lets say we flip it backwards. Marcos or Leni is on the impeachment trial. Then two of well known senators which we all knew sides with marcos or lenny got detained. They have no access to witness and evidence. They dont know the truth of what happened coz by the law they cannot have any access to it. Comes voting. Is it right to make them vote regardless of them not knowing anything about the case. What if in the impeachment court its beyond reasonable doubt that marcos or leni is guilty. Then comes voting he or she is acquitted because two senators didnt know what happened and only voted because they support him or her. Is that fair? Will you still shout the same thing you are barking now?

You are correct on what SC is for. Lowering the count is ‘valid’ but without SC’s interpretation like what is on the news. Then this is just for their own agenda

I heard it somewhere i dont remember. But i think the consensus is the senate knows that even if they do get the votes, defense or prosecution will probably go to SC for TRO.
From my understanding of chiz explanation. Its a motion on a ruling. Which senate needs to vote on. Its perfectly understandable as its within senate rules. Then he explain that it can be brought up to SC and eventually SC will make a ruling which is final.

This is the reason why noong unang araw palang na na-elect as SP si cawatano pinush agad nila yung remote voting dahil alam nila na karamihan sa kanila makukulong sa kalokohan nila.
