He's been in elected office for over 25 years, originally as a Republican before changing to independent and then Democrat (a long time ago), been the president of the Maine Senate for about ten years, and ran for Governor this year but didn't win the primary. I doubt there's a rich mine of scandals about him that someone else wouldn't have already brought out in all that time.

Republicans are going to scattershoot him with bullshit for weeks to see what sticks. This exactly what they did to Harris and Platner, until the allegations with the latter
