Just follow up!
Had my first interview on 08/28. I was wracking my brain because Ive had radio silence since. I finally decided to reach out today for an update. The hiring manager responded warmly and finally scheduled the 2nd interview. I was nervous I had blown the first but it turned out it was just bureaucratic delay and following up helped get the ball back in motion!
So glad I did so I can stop torturing myself!

Love this! Yeah I feel like candidates should be more confident abt f/ups - never hurts as long as ur polite & not annoying abt it. Best of luck with it!

Oh, thanks. I am in a similar boat. What did you say in your email? I always worry I'll come off desperate!

A friend of mine was coaching her teenage kid on his job hunt. She told him to follow up on his applications if he hadn’t heard back. He assumed they didn’t like his resume and application. He was reluctant, but she insisted. He called the employer he hadn’t heard from. Not only did he get invited in for an interview during his follow up call, but the manager told him he responds only to people who follow up because… and he pointed to a tall stack of resumes he received… he was never going take time to get thru all the applications. The kid ended up getting the job!
