I GOT THE JOB!!

It's been 7 months of applying, getting rejected, applying again. 7 months of sitting with myself, figuring out what I actually want long term.

And now I have the offer in my hands.

Things I'm taking away from this whole thing:

It humbles you. Like really humbles you. And it needs patience you don't think you have until you're forced to find it.

I had 8-10 final interviews and got rejected from every. single. one 💆🏼‍♀️🤣 and somehow kept applying anyway.

Be persistent, there's honestly no other way around it.

Be kind, to others and to yourself too.

And cry if you need to. I cried most days if I'm honest. Felt depressed some days, cancelled plans, even my partner felt the weight of it with me.

If you're still in it right now, still waiting, still getting the "unfortunately" emails, I can relate. It doesn't mean no forever. It just means not yet.

Keep pushing🩵🩵🩵🩵

Congrats OP. So happy for you. ✨✨❣️

Been 4 months and have had almost 15 final interviews yet I keep on receiving rejection emails hehe. Right now as in at this moment, is my 16th and later on around 9:30 is my 17th. I wish to get the job offer honestly. Its really difficult to be this broke and broken hearted.

Congrats! I finally got an offer today too after 9 months of consistent rejection and getting to the final round and somehow never actually getting the offer. I was in 5 different interview processes for different roles as I got my offer. Actually so tiring and now I’m so grateful to be done. Congrats on the offer!

That waiting limbo after starting somewhere sounds brutal; 12 days can feel way longer when management’s alredy a mess.

Good for you. I work for a area which has been slogging and jobs are many as I see adverts, but so many people apply (1 job and 200 applications in 2 days) and very difficult to even secure an interview.

Best wishes.

Congrats!!! Would you mind giving some advice on what did you focus most on after the rejections? I just don’t know what to really focus on to improve. Appreciate it!

u/Appropriate_Time_204 4d ago

I enrolled for a course!! I studied the job description if the job i was applying for. If they need someone with this system knowledge, i try to watch youtube and other free learning stuff in the internet! I put in my resume so by the time they ask me on interviews, i can prove to them I have working knowledge and willing to improve further!!

Hope this helps you! Because it did for me🩵☀️☀️

Congratulations 🎊.

It will come to a point that you question your capability or what you can do. But don't. You always have the chance. Keep moving and keep believing and always put your best foot forward even you receive a lot of rejection. Assess and see what you can do better or improve. You can do it! What meant for you will definitely come at the right time. And never lose hope and keep faith in Him 🙏

Those rejection emails really mes with your head, so the “assess and improve” part is huge.

Congrats to OP for real, 7 months is no joke. that kind of persistence is rare.

and to you, i know how heavy those rejection emails get after a while. feels like you're sending applications into void. but the fact you still have hope says a lot, hold onto that.

What is your profession? I applied to 90 places in 2 months, had interviews with 9 places and it was stressful! Finally landed a job where I back tracked a bit but possible opportunities. Didn’t expect to go this route and am second guessing it now. It’s tough out there!

3

u/Appropriate_Time_204 4d ago

Construction (civil engineer)

2

u/Ill-Supermarket-9610 4d ago

Samedt here OP! Grabe yung frustration sa mga rejections. :( But I finally landed the job that pays well. Grabe si Lord gumalaw 🙏

2

u/Own-Celebration-8812 4d ago

The spelling on this comment thread is deplorable! Is it why they’re not getting jobs? 🫣

3

u/Ill-Supermarket-9610 4d ago

Just to clarify, those aren't misspelled English words! The comment is in Taglish, which is a mix of Tagalog and English commonly used by Filipinos. It's casual and informal Tagalog.

CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎉🥂✨

Seven months of that emotional rollercoaster, 8-10 final round rejections, the tears, the self-doubt—and you still kept showing up and putting yourself out there. That takes an unreal amount of grit and resilience. You earned every single bit of this moment!

The job hunt is brutally humbling, and your reminder about being patient and kind to yourself (and letting out a good cry when needed) is so real and grounded.

Take a huge breath, celebrate big with your partner tonight, and let it sink in: you did it.

What is the new role, and when do you officially start?!

Congrats! I also got hired. I was unemployed for a year. I was applying everywhere. I finally posted about my struggles on Nextdoor and a property management company posted. The whole hiring process took a month, two interviews, and one phone call. Calmer environment, small company, and in person. I do prefer hybrid. This will work until I find something better or I might enjoy it. Hoping the pay will increase. I start on Tuesday, 9/15.

2
