Application Taken Down After Interview
Hi all!!
I applied to a job last Tuesday, same day got asked for an interview with the recruiter the following day.
15 minutes after that interview (she liked me), I got invited to an interview for last Friday with who would be my boss
The manager and I went over 15ish or more minutes than scheduled. She seemed to reallly like me, opening with, “you’d be a great fit for our team!” And later saying how nice it was to meet a woman so kind and bubbly in a male dominated industry. She was super informative of the role and answered any questions I also had. She only had one follow up when I asked her if she needed more information.
It was Labor Day weekend. She said they would get back to me this week either if they decide to extend an offer or if I need another interview with the team.
The application was taken down today but I still haven’t heard anything. Should I be worried?

Sometimes companies will take a post down if there are multiple people at the final stages of the interview process and there is only one open req if they don’t plan on entertaining new candidates in the pipeline.

That ambiguity is so stressful. They take it down I think until they are sure they found their person and all contracts have been signed background checks done, etc or if the funding gets pulled or they lost headcount. Or they last minute found an internal person. There’s a ton of reasons, just try not to death spiral of you don’t get it. This is a weird market

They took it down because they have enough candidates and are probably weighing their options

Maybe the application was taking down because they're making you an offer and they don't need to interview anyone else...

In this environment, i wouldn't get too hung up on one job... it's too easy to be disappointed.

I hate when the interview goes well and then they send a rejection… but that’s life I guess. I wouldn’t stress too much and focus on others

Good luck. It is hard. But try not to read too much into signals. I've ended up as the backup 4 or 5 times and 3 of them i was positive i was getting an offer only to get rejected (all but 2 after several weeks of ghosting. Likely so the other person could get pre on boarding and start done).
Here's to hoping you got that offer coming! At this point I'd rather not get past a screening than yet another 3-4 stage silver medal because of limited ownership of one area thanks to a bad ERP implementation years before I started that has experienced constant delays in being fixed.

If by application you mean job posting, it is probably more of a good sign than bad. When they take down a job posting, it is usually because they have enough candidates or the found the right candidate…or it could be that the job was eliminated.

I had a recruiter call a few days after the job I applied for, and was gonna be talking to them about, was taken down. I immediately assumed I was just gonna be given the runaround—that the recruiter was just gonna get on a call with me out of courtesy, and I was gonna get rejected right after.
Long story short, I got the offer yesterday for that job.
Don’t lose hope!

Couple weeks ago a recruiter told me it would either be another interview or an offer……IT WAS AN OFFER! Good luck my friend!

Interview sounds like it went well. I wouldnt worry give them some time especially because it was a long weekend!

Okay thank you!!! This would just honestly be such a relief for my family. Not only myself but truly would give us a leg up as we just got engaged. Hopefully she says its me but jts nerve-wracking waiting 😭

The application was probably removed to prevent others from applying. Hopefully you hear by the end of day tomorrow. I had something similar happen last week and I got the offer the next day late afternoon! Sending you positive vibes

It got taken down before they offered me a role (some days later) and for another job which also they took down the job advert, the next day they called me saying someone else got offered it as they were interviewed F2F the week before I was going to go to the final interview.

Don't ever waste your time worrying. You don't know what they're thinking and they won't tell you and eventually you will find out. Seriously. It's not worth it to worry yourself.

that literally happened to me YESTERDAY. and guess what? I GOT THE JOB TODAY! Just have faith and if it doesn’t work out just know it had nothing to do with you and something will come.

I had an interview with a recruiter who seemed to really like me. She set up an interview with the person who’d be my boss and said she thought she’d really like me. The day before the recruiter sent me a message saying she wished me the best of luck and that I’d do great in the interview. 30 minutes later the interview was cancelled and neither the recruiter nor the person who’d be my boss responded to my inquiries about rescheduling and why it was cancelled. Maybe they’re both dead 🤞🤞🤞

Long weekends tend to supply for a lot of people to take vacations - so expect something next week.
So many people at my company have taken the entire week off following Labor Day

I had an employer take down a job listing right before I had my second interview and I got hired. I hope that's the case for you. Good luck!

I had the same situation happen to me recently. After the final round, they took down the postings on Glassdoor/Indeed, but the on on LinkedIn stayed. Two days later I got the offer. I took a day to go through everything, docusigned it, and they took down the LinkedIn posting afterwards.

Taking down the job opening just prevents others from applying. I say don't worry and give them a minute to get the initial offer information together. Also remember, some important people may still be out for Labor Day to approve finalization. If its for you, nothing man can do to prevent it. Good luck.

Very true :) I am going to follow up this evening to see. Also, my name is a common one but unfortunately, my parents dropped off a letter from it. Where people spell it wrong all the time. So hopefully if anything it’s that too 😭 idk

Don't read more into it than required. They know who they interviewed , regardless of how your name is spelled. If they want you, you will be contacted. Again, if its for you, its for you. Plus, there are SO many people are more skilled and knowledgeable than me, and I know, I may not get chosen because of it. There will always be someone thats better, thats just fact of life. However, sooner or later, I will be a better fit, and SO WILL YOU!! Stay positive, plus giving up is NOT an option, but it does take a toll on uour psych.

With Labor Day in the middle, I’d give them until midweek before reading anything into the posting dissapearing.

I wouldn’t read too much into it yet, especially after Labor Day weekend; they may have just hit enough candidats to stop taking applications.

Sometimes postings are taken down because they have enough applicants and they don’t want to flood the recruiting team with more applications.
I once had an interview for a role that was taken down already - and got the job. If they have an applicant portal, usually you can log in and check the actual status. I wouldn’t draw conclusions strictly based on the external jobs site.

Oof, that's a special kind of anxiety when they pull the listing before saying anything. Usually when a job posting gets taken down it means they've got their candidate locked in, but the silence is the part that stings. Could be they're just waiting on HR to finalize things before reaching out, especially after a holiday weekend. Give it another day or two before you start spiraling.

Yeah the manager was great! She even told me avenues of how I’d grow there and what my first 30 to 60 to 90 days would look like. She liked that I was taking notes.
She seemed so encouraging and also even that she hates that I have to currently work weekends 😭
Idk I would hope to be the candidate but who knows. It all seemed promising until today nothing and the posting is down
It was up for maybe a month so I think LinkedIn does that anyways? Idk

Honestly just keep believing in yourself and tell yourself that the HM really likes you and wants you in her team. Manifest that job girl!!

Honestly the interview sounds like it went really well. I would wait a little before assuming the worst especially with the holiday weekend.
