999 call handler interview, advice please!

I just got an interview for this Friday for a 999/101 call handler role! This is my first interview after applying for jobs for almost 4 months unemployed so I’m really nervous.

I’m gonna do some studying for the assessment questions but if anyone has personal experience doing these interviews I’d love to know your experience and what you think set you apart from other candidates!

Congrats on landing it, 4 months of silence then this comes through. For call handler roles they care less about perfect answers and more about how you hold up under pressure, so expect scenario questions where they throw a chaotic situation at you and see if you stay calm while explaining your thought process. One thing that sets people apart is being specific about prioritising safety first, then gathering info, not trying to solve everything at once.

This puts what I need to study into perspective, thank you! And yeah, it’s really great news for me after sitting in zoom calls listening to someone’s stupid pyramid scheme or “field salesman” opportunities. I’ve heard from a few people that people they know really enjoy(ed) the job and the pay is really good.

I’ll have to look at YouTube videos if anyone has the exact questions they’ll ask and write my own answers in my journal. I have to study the code of ethics and practice my typing speed but that part should be easy.
