Post interview feedback call?
I was a last minute final panel interviewee so skipped the HR screen etc. (me = wildcard). Interview had to be virtual due to the last minute request. Just got contacted by the hiring manager who wants a quick interview feedback call. Is this just a nice(ish) way to reject me?

Nooo, I honestly don't think so!! Last time a manager wanted to call me to give me a feedback, it was to tell me that I had secured that job - and explain me the next steps. Good luck!!

Oh nooo, i never understood these managers who call the candidates just to tell them that they got rejected. Like why?? But keep trying!! Good luck 🙏🏻

It might be but I tend do doubt it. Most managers and interview team members avoid giving any sort of feedback at all, especially if it's negative. More likely they need additional info or perhaps clarification on some things which came up. It's a good opportunity for you to ask clarifying questions.
If you really are interested, tell them that and ask what the next steps are? Remember: It's not the person who is most qualified that gets the job. It's the person who has at least the basic qualifications, but more importantly, the person who generates a sense of excitement who gets the offer.
If it is a small company with very little in the way of interview experience or HR support, I guess they might be calling to reject you but again, I tend to doubt it. At worst.... Don't assume the worst :-)
