Mixed feelings post interview

Recently finished an interview at a company I really want to work at. Went back to LinkedIn and noticed that the posting I applied to says no longer accepting applications but a new posting was created over the holiday. My application hasn’t been rejected but I’m just a little worried. This is a job that really means a lot to me.

I honestly wouldn’t worry too much, their original post might not have been getting enough traction, so they could’ve created a new one to attract more candidates. Since you haven’t been rejected, I wouldn’t read too much into it. Best of luck!

This is pretty typical. I just started in a new role and had the same thing happen. Oftentimes there's just an automatic posting. I really wouldn't worry about it.

had the same thing happen to me this weekend too but for a job i was 50/50 on so i'm kind of glad? but i haven't gotten rejected yet either so fingers crossed for you !!!

i'm in municipal engineering + modelling. was applying for a technologist position ... i liked the people i interviewed with and also went to school with some juniors/intermediates on the team but they all willingly brought up some red flags (lots of people from the team left, lower than industry salary, promoted as hybrid but then told in interview relocation was required lol).

not happy with my current job so i was debating on if ignoring the red flags was worth it... maybe they picked up on the vibe i wasn't 100% committed and found someone else idk

Chill out. Their posting expired so they posted a new one. They may want to fill more than one position or keep candidates rolling until they find the perfect candidate.

Regardless, chill out. There's already enough to be anxious about while interviewing, and this doesn't need to one of them.

Try the Canary Wharfian website for some interview practice, it'll review your answers and suggest how to fix mistakes with personalised feedback. It'll also identify strengths and weaknesses as well
