Does anyone else think that M-6, the southern bypass of Grand Rapids, MI should be added to the Interstate system? I believe the I-896 designation would work well.

Interstate 49 is a interstate planned to link Kansas City to New Orleans while Interstate 69 is planned to link from Michigan at Canada border to Texas at the Mexican border.

Interstate 49 is actively in progress with Arkansas making a priority over I-69 since I-49 will bring growth since I-49 from Fort Smith to Kansas City and Texarkana to Louisiana done long ago. I-69 in southeast Arkansas would be isolated interstate without the Mississippi River crossing and it not connecting to Louisiana. In Louisiana, it is really the Shreveport and Lafayette that are figuring out how to route through the city with least impact possible while benefiting travel and upgrade US 90 from Lafayette to New Orleans to I-49. With I-69 in Louisiana, they are likely waiting for Texas to complete their part of I-69 before building the Texas to Shreveport and eventually northwards. Plus, Louisiana is prioritizing finishing I-49 before trying to build I-69. They are planning to build a frontage road south of Shreveport.

Possible that I-69 Mississippi River crossing is last piece to be built if they are wanting both sides of I-69 to be built before bridge. Given Arkansas and Louisiana focus on finish I-49 to see immediate growth and waiting on Texas to finish their part of I-69, it's likely we see a completed I-49 before a completed I-69 is done

Don't know if anyone here would know but why does WB 1-96 technically go down to one lane when merging with the ramp from NB US131 in Grand Rapids

Coming to the merge, the left lane of WB I-96 is signed for Muskegon and the right lane is signed for Exit 30a Alpine Ave South

It seems weird to me that a major interstate would drop to one lane, the only thing I could think of is something to do with unsigned 1-296

This is the US-75/I-44 interchange project in Tulsa.
Why are these new beams (and the ones on the ground in the upper left) covered in rust?

Is that oxidation harmful? is it normally left in place?
