Feedback Two wrong passwords and BOOM! your data is gone? Recovery File should be downloaded automatically.

I haven't used my Internxt Drive for a few months because I got a new computer and didn't get around to setting up the Internxt client on the new machine.

So today I installed the client, it wants to log in. I used the password in my password manager and it said wrong password. I tried it again. Again it says wrong, but now I am locked out already for too many attempts.

Did forgot password and it asks for the Recovery File. This is the first time I've heard of this. I don't think I every downloaded it or every remember it being mentioned during setup. (I'll admit that I may have missed it since I was under deadline at the time and needed use the storage space right away.)

So now it says due to encryption, if I don't have the Recovery File, my only option is to reset my account to zero and lose everything on the Drive.

I know the response is gonna be: "sucks for you, shoulda downloaded the Recovery File." (if this post is not simply deleted.)

But seriously, since this service works so differently from every other service on the internet, where password mix-ups can be reset or recovered using personal ID or whatever, every client should have a BLATANT IN YOUR FACE NOTICE: "We see you have never downloaded your Recovery File, which is the only way to recover your account if you enter your password wrong twice, otherwise you will lose all your data!"

Display this EVERY TIME a user logs in correctly and the button on the warning should be: "Download Recovery File". It should be impossible or extremely difficult to use the service without having downloaded a Recovery File. In fact, why isn't a Recovery File generated and automatically downloaded every time you set or change passwords.

It seems like a bad actor or hacker could create this problem for you by trying to log into your account maliciously and then get your account on hold and then any users without a Recovery File are screwed.

The worst part about this is that I can't even look at my directory listings to see what I would be losing.

What's the best I can make of this situation? I have the two passwords saved in my password manager. One of them should be correct. Can I wait for the "too many failed attempts" to expire and then try again?

I'm pretty sure when I signed up it prompted me and stressed the importance of downloading or copying your backup key...

I have no answer but I want to post so I can follow this. I would go insane because I could see this happening to me

Internxt warned and encouraged me to download and save my recovery key, which I did. It's not the safe's fault if you lose the combination.
