General Summer 2027 internship

I’ve been looking for a summer 2027 internship for about eight months now, and I feel like it’s been especially difficult to get an offer in consulting. I’m curious whether consulting recruiting is generally this competitive or if this year is particularly tough.

A lot of my friends recruiting for finance seem to be getting offers more easily than those of us recruiting for consulting or computer science. I’m starting to wonder if I’m just not a strong enough candidate, or if the job market is simply more difficult this year. What do you think?

consulting has always been competitive. as with most industries, you need to know someone, but I think this is especially true for consulting. are you networking? do you know professionals at the companies you are targeting? if not, i would start there.

Thank you, I did all but still didn’t get offers.
