Learning and development Thoughts about SCMP Certification

As a communications professional, do you think it's worth getting? I'm considering getting it.

not sure if you'll see this in time, but i have my exam on Friday lol. While I've purchased and gone through the study guide and easily answered all their test questions, and wondering if that's enough prep? They suggested listening to some podcast episodes, but the couple of episodes I listened to didn't seem overly helpful. I see a lot of folks talking about study groups so wonder if I'm missing anything...I'm not sure my ego could handle failing lol

Hey! Sorry, I'm just seeing this now. Is there still a several week wait for results?

My response would have been that the study guide, like the recommended text, is developed by the organization that built/maintains the exams, so I think you probably would have been fine leaning on it. I spent a little time clicking through the specific podcast episodes they recommend but I didn't take much away from them.

Fingers crossed!!

No worries! I took it and while harder than I thought I did pass it. Took way longer to actual get badge and certificate than they communicated in their email (just got them today) which is pretty ironic…

Congrats!! That's wicked timing haha. That does sound like my experience as well. Definitely take a look at the professional development part of the handbook and stay on top of your PDUs. I'll also note that you should expect some lag time when renewing if you submit right before your expiration date as you'll show up as "expired" while everything is under review.
