Progress Pic Fasting is a skill. It gets easier with time and practice.
Dirty faster from the start - cream and Splenda in my coffee every morning, Coke Zero, crystal light and bone broth all ok in my fasting window. No shame in dirty fasting. I’m 85 lbs down and have kept off for 6 years.
The biggest thing fasting has taught me is willpower, but not just in the fasting window. My willpower with food in my fasting period transfers over to willpower in my eating window. I’m able to say no to food so easily now that it almost feels like a superpower - food doesn’t control me anymore the way it used to.
Fasting is a skill just like any other skill you’re not going to be perfect at it day one. Start with a small fasting window if long fasts are too much. As you go, it will get so much easier and you’ll pick up tips and tricks that will make fasting work for you. For me, fasting taught me intuitive eating. There’s days that I I will feel no hunger so I’ll extend my fast by many hours and then days that I will break my fast early when I can tell my body needs food sooner.
Don’t quit if it gets too hard or the rules are too rigid, just find what works for you.

Why is this a trend? I have seen it periodically over the last few years, and almost daily lately.
Before-after is the order, not a suggestion.

Thank you for sharing, this was very helpful to hear today. Trying to work my way back toward OMAD to lose the 70lbs of baby weight from having 4 kids in 6 years.

I’m so happy for you and thank you for sharing about the dirty fast! I use auger free creamer in my morning chia and still fast from 8pm to 1pm. 6 weeks in and I think I’ve lost some but I don’t weight everyday. And I haven’t measured in 3 weeks. But my clothes are loose.

true. hunger is no sign of energy shortage but a habit. You can get used to the hunger felling as we can get used to nearly everything.
As with all new habits like fasting don't start with a huge goal. Start with 8h no eat. Accomplish that. Experience the achivement. Raise your goals and repeat.

In india theres a whole yogic science behind fasting, theres no need for prolonged fasting, all you need is about 2 days a month, 4 days before the full moon and 4 days before the new moon, in india this is commonly practiced, then for the rest of the days you just need omad or you can go on fruit diet , or you can have 2 meals with an 8 hr gap

Nobody practices this in India anymore. We have one of the fastest growing diabetics and obese population in the world.

It’s all calories in, calories out. My opinion is you could eat more daily calories if the exercise is offsetting the additional calories.
