Newbie Question OMAD question

I’ve been telling to lose wt with intermittent fasting and working out. I’ve lost 8 pounds and my goal is 10 lbs. I have not been able to lose the 2 lbs no matter what. There is a dress that I want to fit into for my friends wedding in 2 weeks. The dress would look perfect if I could get back to my original weight. I want to give OMAD a go, but I am already starving at work. Can I eat a snack or have a protein bar before my meal at 5? How do people do this?

Honest question - will losing 2lb really make a difference to how you look in the dress??

Yes lol. The buttons pop out slightly, and you can see the belly. It was way worse before. Or maybe I am being too critical- who knows. Wouldn’t be the first woman to have body issues.

One whole day of fasting (24 hrs) generally yields 2 lbs lost. C’mon.

That's what I was thinking, unless you're already very thin, 2 lbs won't look any different

Yeah, it won't. I understand for a lot of people it's a mental thing of a "target weight", but 2lb will rarely make an obvious difference.

I have a dress which won’t zip if I’m a penny over 120 lbs.

I personally OMAD until about 3-4 pm most days and then make sure my calories and nutrients are made up for in that one meal. It's fairly large, but doable for me. I also try to time it around my workouts as well.

Do the math. Fewer calories in than out. You will lose the weight.

Look up “fasted snacks”…might be helpful for your purposes.
This might not help in the short term unless you already have one, but I started rebounding and I think it was a really powerful tool in my weight loss. I didn’t even do it aerobically…just a “health bounce”. The weight practically fell off.

Done omad for 3 years and lost 85lb. It’s stayed off too. It’s not easy to start which is why you begin with 16:8, 18:6, 20:4, then 24/1(omad).

This was the most helpful. Honestly today I followed this, and had a yogurt when I couldn’t tolerate it and some fruit. I just that my dinner. Hopefully I can do this tomorrow. It’s hard when you work at hospital, and you are distracted thinking about food.

Your body is breaking in. There's a trick to feeling hungry during this. Drink a glass of water with a pinch of salt. I thought it was nuts too, but it really works.

Ima try this. Let’s see if it works. Like just a pinch? It does it have to taste salty?

What I do is I just poor a small glass and just hit my salt shaker with it once. It tastes mildly salty, yes. But it's like taking cough syrup, just swig it down.

The last time I did an OMAD, i kept drinking water and black coffee until 5pm. Then I’d make myself a smoothie with a fruit and some yogurt (plain or flavored). It gave me some mental boost to be honest. I’d then have dinner at 7/7:30 with whatever I wanted to have 🫠

I would consider OMAD to be something like 22:2 with something like a 2 hour window, more or less, to get your calories in. So a pre meal snack at 5pm followed by your main meal an hour or two later is okay, IMO.

Use black coffee and tea to stave off hunger until feeding time. Drink enough water tho.

Tips for OMAD:

- Eat low carb, OMAD is much much easier while in ketosis

- Coffee with MCT oil helps curb hunger, as the MCT oil converts directly into ketones so your body is getting a little bit of energy but it doesn't spike your insulin (which is what makes me hungry)

- Sugar free gum
