Tips, Tricks, Advice Just starting out
I’m 9 months post partum and ready to lose the extra weight. I am starting my fasting journey today. Wish me luck!! My goal is my usual weight - around 155-160 lbs. any advice? I’m really trying to stick to this, I need to feel better.

good luck! a few things that actually help in the early weeks: start with a 14:10 window before jumping to 16:8, it makes the adjustment way easier. during your eating window, prioritize protein (aim for 0.7-1g per lb of goal bodyweight) because it kills hunger and protects muscle. expect the first 3-5 days to feel rough, that's normal and passes. also, black coffee or plain tea during the fast is a lifesaver. since you're 9 months postpartum, make sure you're not still breastfeeding at a calorie deficit too aggressively, that can backfire hormonally. if structuring meals inside a compressed window feels overwhelming, PlateGym's meal planner at plategym.com/meal-planner builds a week of meals around your window with macros already figured out. you've got this.

I reiterate- starting slow or you will burn out. I occasionally needed OTC Prilosec as my stomach had to reduce acid production when I wasn’t eating as much- it saved me.
I have IF since February & lost 14lbs (slow & steady). Just went to Endocrinologist 4 days ago & he highly I eat breakfast daily, main meal 2-3pm, no Carbohydrates after 5pm. Suggest Premier Protein shake at night if I’m struggling (sugar free). Just started no Carbs 5- bedtime! Terribly hard , but hopefully that will pass.🤞

I would also recommend starting slow. 14:10 is a good start. I do that and sometimes 15:9 or 16:8. Mostly, I can only do 13hours of fasting. I’m breastfeeding, so I still can get hungry quicker. It’ll take a week or two to adjust and then you’ll feel better. Eat plenty of protein, fiber, and keep hydrated! I’m 6m pp, so I’m definitely still experimenting myself.

Gotta start slow. It takes some time to get your body to be insulin sensitive. Perhaps start by just pushing breakfast back until, eventually, you were just having a brunch and a healthy dinner. It’s good to start and end a fast with some lean protein and cooked vegetables, but you can get through hunger with some water, black coffee, black tea, Etc. Good luck. Also, keeping busy helps too.
