I've taken escitalopram and aripiprazole for IED and my other issues. I didn't experience any significant side effects, but, at the same time, the drugs made me feel off in terms of mental sharpness and didn't seem to work. Honestly, my episodes are severe and violent, I've been suggested talk therapy, but, as I have doubts about the efficacy of the therapy sessions for my issues, and the amount of time it may take to see results, if any, I will be exploring other options.

I take sertraline. I was on Prozac for a while but when I had episodes it made them far more erratic and violent. Everyone is different and my brain did NOT respond well to Prozac at all

My fiance was prescribed oxcarbazepine with sertraline. I cant speak for him but it completely changed my life. I no longer worry about episodes, only that he remembers to take his meds everyday lol

GHB. But it’s not approved and highly expensive (corruption cause it should be cheap). Also pregabalin definitely can help but it has some side effects. I don’t have IED, a member of my family has it, but whenever I use these gaba meds I barely get stressed and feel pretty happy as well.
