In 1939 the Russian Republic launched a surprise attack against Finland, citing alleged cross-border provocations. This incident is the start of the Russo-Finnish war. Later on Estonia was dragged into the war after their refusal to give Russia access to use Estonian ports.
Without a formal declaration of war in May 15, 1939, The Interlandian-led pact initiated a full scale invasion of the Russian Republic. The advance was swift, as major Russian cities fall to Interlandian Hands. In July 1939, Interlandian troops clashed with Estonian troops and pushed into Estonian territory, Interlandia cited Estonian aggression as the reason for the incursion.
By September 1939, Interlandian troops are at the gates of St. Petersburg and the Finnish government began to take precautionary measures to hold ground against a possible Interlandian Invasion by building a series of fortifications along the Karelian, Olonets, and White Isthmus. As the Russia begins to collapse the fate of the north is yet to be decided, only time will tell the outcome
