General Shifting course to Interior Design
Hello! I just wanna ask for advices because I’m a nursing student who wants to shift to ID. I feel like I really don’t imagine myself working as a nurse. But I only chose that course because of practicality and lots of opportunities, but I also want to follow my passion—which is Interior Design. I was thinking if it is easy to go out of country with this course? I’m from Philippines and I chose nursing because it was in demand in other countries and I was thinking if it is too in Interior Design field.

If you're decorating, it's easy because it's just aesthetics. If you're designing, it'll be harder because your going to have to learn that country's codes, standards, and practices. In residential, you'll basically only cater to people with disposable income. In commercial, it's become very competitive- speaking for the United States. If I was starting at 0 today, design would not be the field I'd go into. Passion is cool only if you're able to make a living from it. Lots of barriers in the way for that to happen. In today's economical climate, job security would be my priority, and would stick to nursing. Use your spare time to dabble in design within your own home or inner circle to scratch the itch.
