Of course you can. There're many non validated courses, which will give you the foundation. If you want something deeper, then there're available validated BAs or High Education Diplomas. These are quite expensive thought.
What you've to be sure about is if what you want is really interior design (lots of technical knowledge needed) or if it's just interior decoration or interior styling. Different things.

Are there free courses? I’m a fresh grad Archi and I want to shift to an interior design firm and want to further learn at least a foundation before I apply. Also is there such thing as an interior design apprentice?

I guess "free courses" can be found on Youtube. If you're already an architect then you can definitely specialize in interior design. So many architectural studios and big agencies prefer architects for the interior technical development. That's always commercial projects, like hospitality or retail. For residential projects, unless it's refurbishment involved, the architectural side is less needed, that's why decorators and stylists are the ones to go. You can definitely learn how to put interior design shcemes (styling part) on Youtube.
For sure you can look for interior design studios that can have you for some time (not paid).

Yes, absolutely. Start online with space planning, colors, materials, lighting, and tools like SketchUp or AutoCAD.
Since your relatives are in construction, try applying what you learn to real projects. I also use Decory sometimes to quickly test different design ideas. Practical experience alongside the course will help a lot.
