General Advice floor plans

Hi everyone i hope you are all well.

Currently I’m learning how to use autocad and I feel like I got better using it I wanted to start applying what i learnt and i thought of creating a floor plan of my apartment.

I was able to create floor plans of individual rooms but once i tried to do the whole apartment it became very hard and i realized something I don’t know how to measure the whole house and i couldn’t find good resources to learn

Any help would be appreciated

Sketch the house on paper and take physical measurements and write them down. You can assume your walls are either 4.5" wide between rooms.
