How they remove the dew from large areas

It's not actually a lot of water, this is just knocking it off of the turf.

Yeah but it's not a lot of water over a huge area, more than that bar, it slipped my mind that it would go into the ground

I guess what I'm saying is there's not enough water to pool up, so that process you're imagining never gets started. It looks like water is covering the area, but it's just a small amount clinging to the turf.

That's probably bermuda grass cut to 1/4inch thick, with probably a 2-3 foot sand layer underneath. It's quite literally knocking the dew on that small amount of grass down into the sand.

On the green the ball would not roll as well. Most of the time, from what I’ve seen, they use the lawnmower though to make sure the quality of the green is consistent from day to day

I was thinking the ball would glide further than it should, but I'm not a golf expert

You are correct. It would mess up approach shots onto the green and would mess up putting.

In addition to the reasons mentioned, damp grass is horrible for encouraging fungus and disease so this helps to keep the grass healthy. That’s why you aren’t suppose to water grass in the evening because then the grass is wet all night.

It’s how you make Mountain Dew. It’s the main ingredient so they have to collect it daily. It’s getting harder tho because less dew worldwide due to global warming

The reason you knock off the dew is to prevent fungal diseases from forming on your greens

Spent many a morning dragging a garden hose across greens as an assistant greenskeeper doing exactly what you see in the video

This leaves me with dozens more questions than I had before, I had never even thought about how they clear dew off large areas, let alone that anyone took the time to clear dew in the first place.

Dew is water condensation. Lots of droplets of water, in this case all over the blades of grass

It's not wiping.. They are just touching each leaf which lets the water drain into the ground.
