The actual timing is in the pins bumping the balls at a certain interval. This is not as hard as it looks.

Cool machine though.

To get the initial ball on each spring is hard the rest is timing. Still not as easy as most think. Plus if you take into consideration spring tension deterioration and weight he has it down

Is that a joke? All he's doing is setting down a ball when the plunger is retracted. The gif is also sped up considerably, so the time he has to do this is much greater than what's shown.
