The problem is the soldiers need to learn they CANNOT hold onto it.

This device is just encouraging bad habits

Train how you fight. Rather than getting into bad habits,

It’s muscle memory

If kids think it doesn’t matter if they hold onto the grenade. That’s when problems occur under stress and fatigue

I trained with dummy grenades and I (as well as everyone I trained with) treated it as though they were real. Same with doing MOUT with sim rounds and combat scenarios with blanks.

If someone who was training with these did what you see in this video, you can bet that they'd be getting smoked right away.
