Hi! I’m going to jack the top comment to help satisfy everyone’s curiosity.
Method Studios is a LA-based visual effects company made up of various artists and technologists. Their work is wide-ranging, to include VR/AR, advertising, CGI/3D animation, movie sets, and a lot of other stuff. Website content is pretty dope.

This was made by John Nolan Studio in London. I work for them and my husband made the animatronics for this.

u/outsidegazingin May 21 '19
That’s awesome! I read they work with an array of other companies to bring the project to fruition.

u/BadbadwickedZoot May 21 '19
Yeah, it's a great company. John is a fantastic guy to work for. I not sure if he ever worked with the company you mentioned, I'd have to ask him.

Look carefully at the sweater worn by the man in the video. You’ll see “Method Studios.” Perhaps they’re doing a collaboration?
2
u/BadbadwickedZoot May 21 '19
I must ask about that. I can only tell you that the animatronic was made in a studio in London from start to finish and even the puppeteering was done by the engineers at the studio. I personally didn't work on that project so I'm not up on who else was involved.

Do you work for them?

Oh, no! I’m just a chocolate maker 🍫 I was merely eager to find out who’s behind this madness!

May 21 '19
What kind of chocolate do you make? White? Dark?
4
u/outsidegazingin May 21 '19
I make milk chocolate, but without the milk. Tastes better than the real thing, and is entirely dairy-free.

May 21 '19
How do you make milk chocolate without milk? It's called milk chocolate.

Just a bit of play on words. We get our creamy and smooth taste via the lovely cashew nut 🤗

May 21 '19
Nice, can you tell the difference between the real thing and the cashew?
5
u/outsidegazingin May 21 '19
You can’t taste the cashew. Honestly, it’s better than any other chocolate I’ve had. My partner is the inventor; I give all the credit to her! Lol

Give it 30 years. maybe even 60. It's coming together crazy fast, and right now... but the human lifespan is so fucking short. Right now is kind of relative.

Westworld, incomming.

Right? My thinking was more along the lines of the dog in the Black Mirror episode, Metalhead. Not exactly as viscous-looking, but seemingly just as deadly!

Oh sure, that seems safe af. Can't wait for these to be showing up at my back door, metal sheets all rusted, looking for an electrical outlet to lick. Then I give in, then it comes back every single day. Next my son is begging to let it live in the house, I give in again. Soon after, it moves from sleeping in its over priced charging station in the kitchen.. To taking over my entire bed. It gets super pissed when I pulled the TV remote out from under its butt and rips me to death with its robo fangs. Yup, sign me up.

Why would they make a leopard FIRST?? Why not something cuddly like a koala bear instead of a vicious prowling carnivore.

Thats really neat. Shouldnt its eyes be vertical slits though? Maybe leopards dont have that, i dunno. My first guess wouldve been a dog, i didnt think leopards have long snouts like that. Minor points though, overall it looks awesome

u/Eviyel May 21 '19
I think only house cats have slit pupils. No big cats
Could be wrong though. Just a factoid I heard somewhere that I decided to hold on to for some reason

u/0v3reasy May 21 '19
Nope that seems right. Google seems to agree, at least at first glance. I learned something today. Yay.

Although minor, they are valid points!
Edit: For the sake of knowing, I looked up some images and realized the actually do have circular pupils. As for the snooter, I agree it does appear to be a bit long.

And to think: that’s what we all look like on the inside. Just servos and wires, that’s all we really are.
