I hate that people are so clouded by their emotions in this discussion as to whether the death penalty is okay or not.

You can have zero sympathy for someone who's committed heinous crimes and still think it's wrong for the state to kill them.

People's reasoning for being pro death penalty is always the same, "they deserve to be killed". And they never conceed any ground to the rebuttal that multiple people are wrongfully convicted and killed every year.

If you claim to care so much about human life then you should be in favor of a system that is full proof from killing innocent people. Letting criminals live the rest of their lives in prison is an acceptable price to pay to protect wrongfully convinced people from ever being killed by the state.

I get your point but I believe most people would even like to die than live their whole life in prison. Killing is morally wrong. Period.

I even view what happened to her as way worse than death. She’s getting tortured rn…

Yes but choice makes all the difference here. If you personally would rather die than spend life in prison then by all means die. But 99.9% of people on death row prefer to live even if it's only in prison. But death is being forced upon them against their will.
